I was warned that when I get pets of my own, I should expect to see a $400 vet bill every time I turn around. I can understand a pet getting sick. That happens. But dogs especially get into situations where they need their stomachs pumped. I knew a beagle that ate two pounds of chocolate-coated coffee beans, an asthma inhaler (with the medicine still inside), and my ball cap.Did I mention we just spent $220 in vet bills on Wed?
Omg! How can a dog eat an asthma inhaler?!?!I was warned that when I get pets of my own, I should expect to see a $400 vet bill every time I turn around. I can understand a pet getting sick. I also knew a cat that ate some dental floss. The floss got twisted around somewhere in the intestine, so that was an expensive abdominal surgery. His owner told me, "next time he does that, he DIES. I don't love him enough to pay for this again."
Gotta remember the animal rules of thumb. My sleep victory was followed up by pukey and dizzy [DOUBLEPOST=1461951210,1461951162][/DOUBLEPOST]

You'd be surprised. I had a dog that ate an entire remote. The only thing left was the batteries and the spot the go in.Omg! How can a dog eat an asthma inhaler?!?!
One bite at a time.Omg! How can a dog eat an asthma inhaler?!?!
Well, it was only $400, so there's that....it's gonna be $450.
I thought I mentioned it before, but not according to the Halforums search engine. The kitty also tried to swallow some yarn. One of his owners held him down while someone else triggered his gag reflex, grabbed the yarn, and slowly pulled it out of him.Ever since hearing about the dental floss thing (have you mentioned this before, @IronBrig4 ?) me and my SO cat-proof the house as a semi-regular chore. I miss having rubber bands just laying around.
Guess what I got this morning. A little letter saying that my eight-hour-restriction can only be honored through the 16th of next month. If I don't get something more in writing from my doctor, they could consider "additional medical or leave options... to determine next steps."The B&H saga is about to enter its sixth month. I got a collections call today for the UPS bill that I shouldn't have gotten and that B&H told me in writing multiple times that they had paid. Omg they suck.
It's pica. It's not uncommon in cats. What is it with cats eating string or string-like stuff? Kiki will chew ribbon, thread, fringe on clothing and blankets, hair ties, and even doll hair. Fortunately she hasn't ingested enough to cause a major problem in her digestive tract.
That's better (though only marginally) than pulling a shop towel out of your dog from the other end.I thought I mentioned it before, but not according to the Halforums search engine. Mine does too...stupid fuckerMy parent's old dog also used to love to eat towels.
Wow that totally and legitimately sucks.Who's got two thumbs and a router that got hacked and the primary DNS changed to a known fake DNS server used by crooks?
AAAAAARGH
I DON'T WANNA HAVE TO CHANGE ALL MY PASSWORDS AGAIN
At this moment I am really, really thankful for 2-factor authentication.Wow that totally and legitimately sucks.
Work or home?Who's got two thumbs and a router that got hacked and the primary DNS changed to a known fake DNS server used by crooks?
Home. Trendnet TEW-731BR. Yes, there's a firmware update to address the vulnerability. I had THOUGHT I had applied it, but turns out I didn't. Well, I DID NOW.Work or home?
Brand/FW vers for the rest of us? Or is it one you can't patch?

Be careful with icy hot, it's toxic to cats but something with the smell makes them addicted to licking it (something in it is from the same family of stuff that cat nip is from)What is it with cats eating string or string-like stuff? Catnip is a mint plant, so that makes sense. Luckily no one in the house uses Icy Hot. She did chew into the paper covering of an ice pack though. I panicked since I know they contain ammonium nitrate, but it was only the water that she got to.Be careful with icy hot, it's toxic to cats but something with the smell makes them addicted to licking it (something in it is from the same family of stuff that cat nip is from)

Ever eaten a pepper that was a bit too hot and burned your mouth? One of my friends had a puppy that ate a box of staples. If something HURTS when you put it in your mouth, why would you keep CHEWING?
I don't know, but I've always wondered why glass tastes so much like blood...One of my friends had a puppy that ate a box of staples. If something HURTS when you put it in your mouth, why would you keep CHEWING?
To ensure it gets done in time. Why in the hell do we need a meeting about doing this RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TIME WE NEED TO BE DOING IT?!?
Ok, so pushing out the End of the Year Testing program that all of our kids need to their district-provided laptop has not worked and I have to go around my school and install the program on all 900 laptops manually. Fine.
Why in the hell do we need a meeting about doing this RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TIME WE NEED TO BE DOING IT?!?
My new boss likes to micromanage and hold a foolish number of meetings then gets screechy with me when she doesn't have enough time to get things done.Meetings kill me. So much time spent talking about doing something instead of just doing it.
