What are you playing?

Finally beat MediEvil, now I'm on MediEvil 2:How far can we jump the shark? Seriously its based in 19th century England and the bad-guys fly in what is CLEARLY a space-ship.

Yes, Mahavir, shut your eyes in shame at your hideous wardrobe.

This is shit that even Johnny Depp wouldn't wear in a movie.

Yeah its a good'n, wish it had a real third game for me to play instead of a remake but what can you do? Cleh, a duology is better than a nonology!

MediEvil 2: DAMMIT-innocent garden lovers, STOP TURNING INTO PUMPKINS SO EASILY!

ALSO-MidiEvil 2 is one of those WEIRD games that can have ri-DIC-ulously hard multi-enemy stages...but really easy boss battles. CLEH-I'm still having fun so whatevs!

So made a couple more alts for SWTOR this weekend, and am making very rapid progress with my Jedi Knight, Mahavir Isha. I picked his name because all named Togruta in Star Wars have Hindu-esque names. Ahsoka, for example, is similar to Asok or Ashok, which means "one without sorrow", and Shaak Ti is obviously from "Shakti" which means "Strength" or "Power". Thus, Mahavir Isha is from Maha (great), Vira (courage or warrior), and Isha (protector) - a fitting name for a Jedi Sentinel.

New characters:

Verdugo Estoque, a Sith Warrior, male, Pureblood Sith. He'll be a Marauder when he gets to pick his advanced path (since Tarth Vayder is already a Juggernaut). Sith Marauders use two lightsabers, and Verdugo and Estoque are the two blades used by a matador in bullfighting: the Estoque is the thin, rigid, narrow blade used in the "corrida de estoc", a precise stab to the heart that instantly kills the bull if done properly. However, if that stroke is fouled, a second blade - shorter, heavier, and often leaf or spear-shaped - called the Verdugo (or Puntilla) is used to sever the bull's spinal cord, thus incapacitating it quickly and with minimal pain before being dispatched.

Rusala Arkhot, a Jedi Consular, female, Mirulakan (the eyeless near-humans who see using the Force). I had a rough concept for the character but no name, and an online "Mirulakan name generator" was just spitting out gibberish (one example: Qiiufuuc Naeoroan). I was hanging with my buddy John and we were watching Super Troopers. The female cop is named Ursula, and Jay Chandrasekhar of Broken Lizard plays "Arcot Ramathorn", so I tweaked them a bit and decided that Rusala Arkhot sounded best.

Still need to make the following for Light vs Dark: Trooper, Smuggler, and Imperial Agent.

Last week the server on which I was playing Empyrion went offline, and hasn't come back. This is the second time this has happened. Guess I'm gonna have to start over again on a new server.

Pretty much all of my time is spent in Elite: Dangerous. I've fully defected from the Federation and have pledged my allegiance to the Empire in the name of Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval, long may she reign.

I've got about $40 left in my steam wallet.. I've been kicking around the idea of Elite: Dangerous after reading the thread here, but Empyrion also looks tasty... maybe No Man's Sky? Civilization VI is due in the fall too.. I have no idea what I want.

To get the maximum enjoyment out of E:D, you really do need a flight stick and throttle. I know people who enjoy it perfectly well with just keyboard and mouse (and I used to play that way) but flying your ship is so much better with a stick.

And you spend a lot of time flying places. A lot... space is big.

Ok, Pokemon GO would be a lot more fun if it didn't freeze on the same screen every time. Bop a Pokemon with a ball and it gets sucked in, then instead of the graphic for it trying to escape it just sits there and zooms in on it. Pretty lame if you ask me. I've lost perhaps 1/4 of the Pokeballs I've tossed due to this.

Whenever that happens and I reboot the app, I still have the pokemon I had captured.

Yes, but that's more metacommentary right now :p

And I've noticed it almost always freezes when trying to capture when I have a cover over the camera, or put it down too quickly. If I keep the phone somewhat still 'till it's captured it doesn't seem to freeze [as often]

I turned the camera off and it still freezes. I've already thought of that one :)

I've got too many games and not enough time to play them. I'm bouncing back & forth between WoW and Vivecraft. That's Minecraft in VR. It's wonderful.

There are more games that I'll be picking up this Friday on payday like VR golf and an RPG.

And yes, we still have money. We put a bunch away and are not touching it. I've blown through my "it's okay to spend this" money so I'm waiting.

Playing the new updated Fallout Shelter. Quests are a mildly more interactive version of wasteland expeditions, kinda fun I suppose.

However, this new update has made the game very crash happy for me. Oh Bethesda, you guys never change, even with your mobile games.

Hrm, it's been a few weeks since I checked in on my redheaded psychopathic babyfactory dungeon shelter, maybe I should...

Been playing a LOT of Empyrion with my friend whose wife won't let him play video games (he's on the road for his job so she can't yank his choke chain). We all started over on a new server a couple days ago, so all the alien bases and whatnot are pristine and full of horrific abominations.

I was the first one to complete a capital ship on Akua, so we loaded up with supplies and a couple fighters and jaunted off to the desert planet Omicron, and after some difficulty with passengers falling out of the ship due to lag/bugs, we stormed an alien base and made it our own. Was a lot of fun breaching doors, shooting aliens, doing the whole tactical thing and then running screaming back to the ship when we got low on ammo/oxygen/health. Hit a major speedbump when, down on the third basement level, we encountered a large room mounting two CAPITAL SHIP SIZE ROCKET TURRETS... lots of death and respawning there. Ended up having to breach the ceiling from the next floor up using planted explosives, and then firing my own rocket launcher down at the turrets from partial cover, just so we could recover our bodies and the equipment on them.

We ended up losing a fighter craft, plus another I built on site, and severely damaging the remaining one (which I repaired later) in scuffles with local alien patrols, but by the time the night was over, we had claimed a base for ourselves and had started harvesting resources to use to outfit it.

I wish I took screenshots.

Anyway, this was a side of the game I hadn't experienced before... squad based combat vs aliens and defenses. Was pretty fun.

Evolve Stage 2 is a LOT of fun. Despite previously only playing it on the PS4, I am quite enjoying playing it on the PC....and I'm still pretty good ;)

I just ended some people's 8 win streak in competitive. I'm actually quite proud of this one.

Er.. . uh...ignore the music. Didn't know Pandora would play through the stream

I logged back in to check on things today before Overwatch, and found my friends fancy themselves quite the pranksters.

They painted my fighter pink and then overlaid it with what I had previously referred to in chat as "that grandma-rug pattern."

I say keep it, make it your own, and make it the trademark pattern that will be the feared colour known across the galaxy.

"Wait, what colour is that ship? Is that grandma rug pattern? OH SHIT, IT'S GAS BANDIT!"

Yeah! That's what I'll say to cover up the fact that I'm far too lazy to repaint it.

The one thing bugging me with Monster Hunter Generations is the boring mandatory opening quests. For new players, these are essential learning tools, and even for seasoned players, it's good for you to get basic materials since you start the game dirt poor and short on possessions. But the experienced part of me just wants to go kill something 5-10 times my size, carve pieces off of it, and make a nice hat.

On the upside, you can hold A to continue gathering/carving instead of having to wait for a gathering action to complete, then pressing A again, which speeds it up greatly. Definitely will be necessary later when the really huge monsters have multiple carvable sections and you're racing against the clock to carve everything you can.

I so badly want to wake my wife up so we can start playing together, but I know it's noon or bust on the weekend ...
