Games on SALE!

Got Street Fighter X Tekken because I never played it. MY BAD. It needs GFWL to run. Fuck you for selling this fucking game Capcom, I should not have to scour the Steam forums looking for workarounds. It's criminal they're selling it still in this state.

If Microsoft ever wonders why no one is buying games from the Windows store (I think PC Quantum Break sold 12 copies), this is why. No one fucking trusts you and proprietary gaming formats on PC.

Wasn't GFWL shut down more than two years ago?

But quite a few developers didn't bother to patch it out of their "old" games. It's one of the biggest examples of these types of DRM coming back to bite legitimate customers in the ass. People jsut aren't supposed to play games over 5 years old, apparently.

On that subject: I just scored 3 Assassins Creed games for free (along with Halo: Reacharound, or something like that), but they don't include the first one. Am I going to be lost or should I read up on it before playing?

Given my gaming habit, I've got a good year before this question becomes really relevant.
If you mean you don't have the very first game, you'll just be a little confused by the Present Day storyline, but the real game will be just fine. I'm sure you can find a summary of that online, or even a video playthrough of it (which is really just a series of interactive cutscenes. Long, boring interactive cutscenes)[DOUBLEPOST=1471727047,1471726917][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh, and if the 3 games you got are Assassin's Creed 2 and its sequels, then got the best of the bunch

Welp, I broke down and bought Assassin's Creed 1&2 through GMG. Yeah, it's uPlay, but I figure I'll probably only ever play through them once. And for that price, it's worth it, even if Screwbisoft shuts down its servers sometime in the future.

Subnautica's 20% off on Steam. Anyone here played it? How is it? It's been on my wishlist for a while, and I rather enjoyed diving in Thailand, so this game intrigues me.

Bundle Stars has the LEGO Pick and Mix Bundle choose two from a list for $9.99

Jurassic World
Marvel Super Heroes
Harry Potter Years 1 - 4
Harry Potter Years 5 - 7
The LEGO Movie Videogame
Batman
Batman 2
Batman 3
Batman 3 Season Pass
The Hobbit
Lord of the Rings
Marvel's Avengers
Marvel's Avengers Season Pass

Most of these are also on sale on Steam in the WB Publisher Weekend sale, and for many of them it's cheaper to get on Steam (8 of the 13 selections are $4.99 individually)

The biggest savings from Bundle Stars is for a combo of Avengers and it's season pass. That's $9.99 vs $29.99. Other savings are on Batman 3 & season pass ($11.24 on Steam), and Jurassic World is also cheaper as half of a bundle (it's $7.49 alone on Steam) but has no obvious pairing. Though you could snag it and Batman 3 and hope the LB3 season pass goes on sale again at some point in the future (last time I saw it on sale it was $3.74, but it is not on sale individually right now), or pair it with any other game and still save versus buying both on Steam.

GTA5 is on sale again for nearly 50 (Canadian) dollars. Game's going on two years old now and it's still full price.

A few months ago, somebody gave me a copy of GTA5 as a present.

Problem is, they went to a STORE and bought a PHYSICAL copy. You know... with multiple DVDs.

I still haven't gotten around to putting an optical drive in my rig so I can install it yet.

Downloading the ISOs might actually be legal, so long as you choke off the upstream traffic.

As astonishing as it is, I'm actually not running Daemon Tools on my rig. Never needed to load it on this one, in the last 3 years.

I know, right?!!

Plus, I really would like it to be steamworks instead of Rockstar Social Club, as far as DRM goes.

The thing about GTAV is that they release a lot of new content, particular for GTA Online, even if it's something as simple as new bundles of clothes, vehicles, and emotes. Not to mention the cubic fucktons of user created content.

Well, given that I actually HAVE the physical copy of the game, Pat was just suggesting I get a pirated copy as a workaround for being too lazy to install a DVD drive (seriously, the drive is sitting there on the shelf, just waiting to be put in the case and plugged in), but I could still use my own CD key and whatnot so that it would be a "legit" copy, and I'd still get all that stuff. Albeit with the same thing I said before about it using Rockstar Social Club instead of steamworks.

Okay, but I was addressing the "it's still full price even though it's 2 years old" complaint from Frank. I probably should have quoted his post.
