The Awesome Videos Thread (with Extra Sauce!)

Upular was my introduction to him, and I've kept an eye on his work since then.

At first I thought it was strange he'd go to the trouble of dealing with contacts but not attempt a skull cap, but:

if you read what he had to do just to get the Data eyes and uniform color in the video description
Ok, post compositing or rotoscoping his eyes and the uniform color? That's hard core. I can't imagine him post editing the hair, and if the skull cap isn't done perfectly it would be worse than leaving his hair as-is.

I still like his earlier works better where he either didn't use auto tune or only applied it very lightly where there was no other option. These later works applying it heavily to form a tune from audio where no tune existed certainly allows him to make music that has meaning while still using the original voices isn't terrible, but for me the auto tune gets in the way. I suppose there's a big tradeoff there.

Okay, first off, who recorded this, one of the My Little Ponies? That voice, man...

Secondly, I'd really be interested to know why they were stopped in the first place, although driving without a license is illegal in all 50 states, last I checked. I do give credit to the cop who remained pretty calm and reasonable throughout the whole thing.

Thanks to nick for the followup, it was:

"They were pulled over after police spotted them driving without a state-issued license plate, which Eshleman had attempted to replace with a piece of paper that said, “Non Resident 6-55-502. Privilege tax on nonresidents prohibited. Lienholder (my chattel).”

If I saw that as someone's license plate, I would pull them over so hard

AFAIK, the arrest was back in 2013, but the video became viral in 2015. I can't find anything that tells about the final outcome of the arrests. My guess is that he did a stupid (ran a red light, speeding, whatevs) and when he was pulled over was detained for failure to have a drivers license.

Thank you, guys, although I did read Nick's post before you got to me. It would explain WHY she thought posting this would support her case, although it clearly does not.

Also, "Xylie".

I love the guys laughing at them in the courtroom. And you know exactly what these guys were thinking. "Damn hippies from California!"

Little do they know, MOST people think these two are whack-a-do.

It's like having a room in your house where the morlocks like to meet. You know they are there, doing terrible morlock stuff, but you turn a blind eye because sometimes it's better just not to know.

(And as a funny aside, I'm ruined. I actually put "murlocs" first and had to edit.)

You think you got it bad, even though you typed "morlocks" I actually READ "murlocs" the first time and had to "Wait, what? Ohhhhh..."

Terrible Murloc Stuff sounds like something on Rule 34.

I think you're selectively blocking out some of the things in the Misanthropy thread.
Nope.
Like I said, I'm really hard to offend.

EDIT: I want to point out that I do know the difference between right and wrong, have a strong sense of ethics, etc. It's just really hard to disgust me.

Case in which Xylie tries, and fails, to get the resisting arrest charge removed from her record.

I find this particular order summary very hilarious: "ORDER ADOPTING REPORT AND RECOMMENDATION FOR DISMISSAL, CERTIFYING AN APPEAL WOULD NOT BE TAKEN IN GOOD FAITH, AND DENYING LEAVE TO APPEAL IN FORMA PAUPERIS"

One of the features of these "sovereign citizens" is that they file a ton of nuisance suits to try to avoid taxes and other things. Looks like Xylie's no different:

I couldn't find the ultimate disposition of her resisting arrest case, but if she was filing a petition to have it removed, I'm just going to assume she was found guilty.

I looked up her facebook--people are still harassing her about this video, two-three years after the fact. I didn't feel inclined to take the low road and join it, but she'll probably be feeling the sting of this little rant for a long time yet.

I think that obligates you to put that in your rephrensible filth thread.

Girl decides to test her boyfriend by getting a porn star to hit on him. It...doesn't end well. Or not for her at least.

It's almost like the number one turn off in a relationship is to have their partner play mind games with them. I'd have done the same to her.
