Alright so what happened was, she came in and asked if she could "borrow a copy of OpenOffice". Okay, first off, OpenOffice is software, which we do not have available to lend (I work in the library). Secondly, it's available for free, online. Third, software isn't really a thing you "borrow" without bending a few regulations here and there. Fourth, what she meant was that she wanted the handout that tells students how to redeem a code for Microsoft Office 365 for free on their home PC.
Then she asked if we were open "on the date you go and, you know, uh, vote and stuff." I said, "You mean Election Day? Like this coming Tuesday?" She goes, "Oh, is that when it is already? Anyway, is the college open?" I said, "Yeah, it's not a holiday." She laughs and goes, "Well, not with this election, right?"
