I've been playing Mortal Kombat XL on PC, and here's a mini review: It's good!
MKX had a lot of problems on PC when it first launched, which has come to be expected from WB published games. Things then got worse when it was announced that the upgraded version of the game, Mortal Kombat XL, would not be coming to PC, things got even worse. XL wasn't just a GOTY edition with all of the DLC, but was also a direct upgrade to the game itself with bug fixes and some much needed improvement to the netcode. Not only was it going to be console only, but PC was not going to get some of the later DLC either, as WB at the time was pulling PC support from their first party games. There was a lot of obvious backlash, and eventually WB relented and started to give the game the PC support it deserved.
Cut to today, and the game finally has the PC love it needed. And it plays really, really well. Netcode is good, it runs at a rock solid 60fps and looks gorgeous cranked up to ultra on a system that can support it. As far as Mortal Kombat games go, it's probably the best one I've played in a long while, and I greatly enjoyed the MK9 reboot put out some years ago. I've found that I even like the WB owned guest characters that were added, with The Predator becoming my favorite character.
