Monday is a holiday, my coworker is taking tomorrow off for an extra long weekend. Going out the door I said "Alright see you next Tuesday."

Hm. I think the fuzzy logic circuitry on our dryer is starting to fail. It can still handle large loads just fine, but if you set a small load to "Optimum Dry", the dryer shuts off after 20 minutes and the clothes are still wet.

I just bought my son an iPod shuffle because he wants to be able to listen to music to help him when his mind starts to wander, but he can't use a smart device/iPod because the presence of apps is just too distracting. The people at WalMart barely even remembered where they were because no one buys that ancient tech any more. :p
Well, Apple did just discontinue them, so that's no big surprise.
Also, Wal-Mart.

Telus and Bell phone service (landline and cell) is down across much of Halifax at the least: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/bell-telus-phone-service-atlantic-provinces-1.4235224

@HCGLNS, @Squidleybits, @Dirona, and.... who's the other person besides me who's in Halifax? Tag them please. It's unknown if it affects home internet, but DEFINITELY affects home phone line (my work landline with Eastlink can't phone my house).

Is anybody there?

I had no idea which thread was appropriate. It's certainly random.

I didn't notice, but my mom sure did!

Also @ThatNickGuy - how you doin'?

Yesterday a dude was standing at a urinal at work simultaneously urinating, blowing his nose loudly with both hands, and letting rip with a boisterous bout of flatulence. It was like a one man band of bodily functions.

I just want today to end so I can watch the new wet hot American summer.
I feel bad because I couldn't make it through the original. I hate when people think something is really funny but it just doesn't click with me.

I listen to Spotify on my phone while I'm at work and I'm eternally terrified that I'm going to accidentally connect to the TV's in the conference rooms upstairs while there's a meeting going on or something.

I see you 'available devices' and no, I don't want you!

WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!

It's mostly fine here at work. Cell phone service is out, but our debit machine is working. Lot of places aren't so lucky from what I hear. Emergency services are having difficulties, too, including their own internal communications.

Meh. I don't take offense when people dislike things I like. Especially comedy which is so subjective.

That being said, I think I've watched the movie 8 times this summer and the first show twice and I find them both hilarious each time so I have slightly different feelings about this than you.

Sorry for "forgetting" about you in the OP man.

Anyways, starting to be restored: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/bell-telus-phone-service-atlantic-provinces-1.4235224

My cell's back at least. But the article was fascinating (and horrifying) on how it affected the airport. LONG lines.

If my work day worked like a multiple choice graphic novel, it occurred to me, answering the phone would always be like

"The phone rings, and since your underlings are all either out at lunch or gone home for the weekend, you must answer it yourself. It's someone from the Texas Department of Agriculture, and they have a question about their bill. You have the requisite knowledge to probably help this person, but you're still working on copy and it's not *technically* part of your position anyway... do you:

1) Put what you're doing on hold and assist the caller, dealing with what will likely be irritating levels of bureaucratic idiocy
2) "Gee let me see if I can find someone who can help you." Put them on hold, and foist this nonsense off on the accountant, even though you know it'll probably end up circling back around and falling in your lap later. There is also a 20% chance the accountant will realize you have blatantly passed the buck."
Your choice?>_

I'm pretty sure there was a scene in Bible Black similar to that. #HouseOfReprehensibleFilth
That's actually reassuring. That we don't live in a world where real life people did something so incredibly stupid in the pursuit of sexual thrills that not even hentai characters would attempt it.
