The Long Dark
This game is trolling me.
Not just the random ankle sprains while walking across open territory, not just the "ha ha, surprise, there's 3 wolves milling around your mission objective," NOT JUST the "you can carry just enough weight to have 2 of the 3 following things: Clothes that are warm enough to not freeze to death in 3 hours, enough food and water not to die of thirst or starvation in one day, or enough wood to make it through one night without freezing. CHOOSE ANY TWO, SUCKER!"
No no no, the final undeniable proof that the game has an AI trolling algorithmic storyteller (sort of like Left 4 Dead) was that I FINALLY found a rifle, and on my way back from a quest objective I was attacked by not ONE but TWO BEARS. I'd never seen a bear before! Anyway, the first went down in 2 headshots, the second one I got a body shot on so it took 3 shots. But the real kicker was, I was way over carrying capacity (94 pounds out of 66 max) because I was hauling quest objective materials back to the questgiver (plus I was trying to pick 3 out of 3 of the previously mentioned things because I had to walk 20 miles in foot-deep snow)... and each bear carcass had SIXTY more pounds of meat, plus fur and useful gut. That I had to just leave there for the buzzards. Because I couldn't carry it.
A HUNDRED AND TWENTY POUNDS OF MEAT. Left to, well, not rot, but freeze and get picked over by wildlife. Cooked down, that would have made about 80 pounds of bear steaks, and that could have fed me for weeks.
