I'm having trouble finding details, too. Though the snippets in this TIME video are disturbing:

It looks like the ACLU has a more formal response posted now. Their key objects are:
- Live hearings and cross-examination, with provisions for avoiding a face-to-face confrontation between a complainant and respondent.
- Sufficient time and information to prepare for interviews and a hearing.
- Presumption of innocence before guilt is proven.
- Fact-finders, investigators, and coordinators must not have biases or conflicts of interest.
- Defining harassment according to longstanding Supreme Court precedent.
It looks like the ACLU has a more formal response posted now. Their key objects are:
- Schools would be required to investigate only the most extreme complaints of sexual violence.
- Schools could adopt a standard of proof that favors the respondent. (Using the “clear and convincing evidence” instead of "the preponderance of the evidence standard".)
- Universities would only be obligated to respond to complaints of sexual violence made to designated high-level officials.
My problem is that none of that matters because the usual narrative is for the college to sweep the whole thing under the rug so they can pretend "that doesn't happen here!"

We did. The short version is many colleges/universities dwarf the communities in which they reside, so the attached town may not have the budgetary resources to as effectively police and adjudicate both themselves and the campus, so those municipalities are more than happy to offload the burden onto the school's "campus police," whose coffers grow ever fatter from ballooning tuition and fee hikes. Then the big cities see it happen in the small college towns, and say, "hey, we could save some money doing the same thing, even if we don't have the same problems. Now the precedent is set, so we have an excuse to follow suit."
It's not what SHOULD be happening, but it is often the state of things.
It also happens in your local bodega, i don't see many bartenders pulling double duty as gin joint judges.

Too bad you live in a country where that could never be taken care of by having some sort of written paper that has certain conditions that have to be met to qualify for getting the money... nope, the US sure ain't famous for something like that...

I wish web sites wouldn't auto play videos.
And I wish that websites could only LEGALLY give you session cookies unless you logged in, and couldn't track you between websites if you were logged in ANYWHERE, and that browser fingerprinting was also illegal. Sure it wouldn't stop small bad actors, but it would stop the BIG bad actors (FB, Google, Amazon).
And that's why I use Firefox with a lot of extensions so I can "enforce" that as much as possible.

At dinner with my relatives today. My uncle had some real gems.

"What family members are 'living the high life'?" (His son and daughter-in-law are on a two week vacation to Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Bali. She works in real estate selling million dollar condos, he makes even more money. His daughter has worked for Google, among other big names.)
My uncle is a genuinely nice guy, but he's not the down-to-earth country farm boy he thinks he is.

The McDonald's near work has been using their sign to trumpet the fact that they are currently hiring...at the staggering hourly rate of $12/hr, which IS up from the $10/hr they were offering during the Summer.

Yeah, the prevailing opinion from people who supported her in 2016 is that she needs to sit down and go away after this. Appeals to the Right are worthless; their claims that moving closer to their positions would make them vote Left have been proven to be disingenuous time and time again. More to the point, showing minorities that you aren't willing to show empathy for situations they or their ancestors may have endured makes them stay home. My ancestors weren't exactly welcome here ether when they got here and a long time after; I'm not going to turn my back on people in a worse position.
