Not me, I'm still twenty-....holy crap .We're all getting older, man.
Fair enough! It sounds worthy of high alert. I hope you’re able to get more information soon and that it’s good news.Man are we all going through health issues right now? I went into Urgent Care with shortness of breath and 'bands around my chest' and they sent me to ER where they found a right bundle branch block. Turns out I have, at minimum, chronic asthma, and at worst, something seriously wrong with my heart. Considering my sister's health history, this has put my wife on high alert.
That makes sense, your brain really doesn't like your eyes being out of focus and will start shit.Oh you guys are going to love this one. I think we found out what's happening. I have an excess of fatty cells in my liver. My doctor told me to cut back on the alcohol and drink more water. Uh...okay. I don't drink and I go through four or five bottles of water (or more!) every day already.
Some causes of this are obesity, high glucose, or high triglycerides. I have all three of these. So, I'm going to stay on the diet. It's already lowered my glucose and blood pressure so I guess it's a good thing I started anyway.
The fun part is that dizziness is NOT a symptom of this. However, the last time I went to the eye doctor (July 2018) he told me I was developing cataracts. Not bad enough to have to do anything about, but I'm getting them. My vision has gotten progressively worse over the last year and I have a feeling that I am probably going to have to have cataract surgery. I'll find out around November 8 when I have my next eye exam done.
Oh, and dizziness *IS* a symptom of cataracts. So my worsening vision could have alerted me to a potentially fatal or debilitating liver disease that we would not have found this early.
It really explains why PUBG has been giving me so much trouble.TIL.

I'm experiencing the joys of presbyopia right now, but I wasn't expecting vision to cause equilibrium issues. That's something I usually associate with inner ear, not eye.It really explains why PUBG has been giving me so much trouble.
I mean this in the most respect, holy shit I have no idea what is going on with gared, but I did not mean it to be the spark that caused him to walk away again!Come again?
What?I mean this in the most respect, holy shit I have no idea what is going on with gared, but I did not mean it to be the spark that caused him to walk away again!
I had wondered why a certain pink cat had disappearedI was having major dizziness over the summer and I couldn’t play anything on a big screen. I pretty much gave up FFXIV because I’d be barfy any time something moved. It’s a shame because I love that game.
Handheld Pokémon games seem ok and I don’t understand the difference.
Congrats on your success with your new eating plan!
I assume this is just related to Gared's continuing problems and hope whatever he feels he needs to do will work for him. A couple weeks ago he made a post asking for anti-bark collars saying his dogs barking caused him stress, and immediately deleted it when I posted they're usually cruel and provided links for quiet training.I mean this in the most respect, holy shit I have no idea what is going on with gared, but I did not mean it to be the spark that caused him to walk away again!
There weren't any links in your reply. You may have meant for there to be links, but there weren't. So instead, all I got was a response that my at-ropes-end, measure of last resort before handing my dogs over to be destroyed was ineffective at best and cruel at worst. And even if you had included links, why would you assume that I hadn't already done the easiest thing first? I already know that I'm completely worthless and a huge waste of everyone's time, so the only time I ask a question or ask for help (from anyone) is when I've literally exhausted all other resources and options.I assume this is just related to Gared's continuing problems and hope whatever he feels he needs to do will work for him. I'm sorry the links didn't show. I obviously can't go back and check, but I usually preview my posts before hitting post to make sure things show up correctly, and linked to a resource list from the ASPCA. That they didn't come through probably means maybe there was a redirect problem or a forum plugin ate it. The next time I checked the thread it was gone, so I assumed it meant you found what you were looking for, and didn't think it might be a stress reaction until this. There weren't any links in your reply. The choices I have/had at this/that point are to either pay hundreds of dollars for a dedicated training program for two dogs with personal trainers and an official PTSD resource - which I can't afford and we don't have in this region even if I could - or to hand the dogs back in to the local pound and watch as they're destroyed. However, I distinctly remember a Halforums member telling a story one time of how they were also in a similar circumstance and had to resort to getting an anti-bark collar, and how they specifically put the collar around their own neck and yelled 'bark' until it shocked them so they could make sure it wasn't too high of a shock; so I figured I'd ask around and maybe someone else would remember so that maybe - just maybe - I could save my dogs' lives. But no, I get "that's cruel and ineffective, here are literally no links to the easiest, first place to look for help."
But that's not it. There was also the fact that two years ago I said (in one of the politics threads) that I was worried about the amount of authoritarianism that was going around at the time (election season), and was laughed at and followed into my PTSD thread and told that only a whacked out nutjob would be concerned about ridiculous things like that. Now, people who express the same concern are welcomed with open arms and heaped with reassurances and/or commiseration. It really sucks being two years too early to the party for being treated decently, much less with respect and care. And many, many more things. It all leads me to believe that we just can't communicate. We're not speaking the same language, somehow. So I'm just done speaking. It only causes problems.
The real fucking pisser is that they STILL started new fires even doing these blackouts. So really they're just doing this as a "Fuck You" to the state for having to declare bankruptcy.Oh goody, our power is going out AGAIN for 36 to 48 hours. I’ll just go ahead and throw away stuff in my fridge AGAIN and buy replacements AGAIN once I’m done sitting in the dark and eating cold meals AGAIN.
Fuck off, PG&E.
We just got word that they might extend it to FUCKING THURSDAY if the wind doesn’t let up. And three separate fires all sprang up around us during the day, so now the outside air is unsafe. It’s like the fucking apocalypse around here.Oh goody, our power is going out AGAIN for 36 to 48 hours. I’ll just go ahead and throw away stuff in my fridge AGAIN and buy replacements AGAIN once I’m done sitting in the dark and eating cold meals AGAIN.

The correct term for "huge thing of spider eggs" is pod of raw nightmare fuel.We have a huge thing of spider eggs growing on our wall here at work. BARF!
FTFYThe correct term for "huge thing of spider eggs" is an egg sac.
Quiet, you.FTFY

Hey you should know better'n to go poking sacs strange to you.@Squidleybits dragged me out to her place of work but wouldn't let me poke the sac.
as someone that has to guide people through this, yes please do, and if you can help it before the grounds hard, try to get your wiring in conduit. That’s my guess as well, the pump is probably 30+ years old now, although it sat unused for probably 20.
The wiring is a bit sketchy though, so I wanted to do that first either way. It’s basically and indoor outlet/box nailed to a 1x4 that’s covered by a pail. Not ideal...
Conduit won’t happen. I’m not trenching out from my house to the septic this year. Especially since I’d have to try drilling through my basement wall as well. Maybe in the spring. I know I should get it done, but that’s the least of my worries right now.as someone that has to guide people through this, yes please do, and if you can help it before the grounds hard, try to get your wiring in conduit.
