https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9_Beet_Stretchhave you ever heard a slow jazz version of Blue Christmas? I hate that song to begin with because of how slow and dumb it is, but this version WAS EVEN FUCKING SLOWER. It's a good thing they didn't include lyrics because it would have taken someone an entire minute to get through "I'll have a blue"

...it was $9.74. -_-A replacement is going to be all of about $10
This is why I didn't want a $mart TV.Me: "Ah, I finally looked around and found a theme I like for my Roku TV. It was a bit of a hassle as setting your theme is 5 menu layers deep and the "store" for them is impenetrable mush, but now that's taken care of."
Roku TV: "HA HA SUCKER, Disney just cut us a check so YOUR THEME GOES AWAY NOW! Enjoy THIS theme we're installing now that is just literally a static ad for Disney+!"
To be fair, I could have just not put it on my wifi so none of the "smart" features would have worked. This is why I didn't want a $mart TV.
That's how they get ya.the roku apps for Plex, Crunchyroll, Amazon prime, netflix, etc are all pretty handy :/
Probably very accurate. Although I’m seriously thinking about running an extension cord upstairs...Shadows: “Does this mean you won’t be on PUBG tonight?”

Disruption expected to last at least another hour.My wife and I are currently back in the UK to attend our graduation ceremonies. Hers is today. Unfortunately right now we're standing here in Paddington station because all train services have been suspended, as a result of some guy climbing onto the track and getting hit (and killed) by a train.
If we miss her graduation because of this dumbass deciding to get himself killed, I'll... well I suppose there isn't much else I could do to him. But I'll be very upset.
Did someone throw themselves on your hood?Welp, I guess today's the day I'm thankful that I installed a dash cam.
Also very thankful that I checked it yesterday and found out I had accidentally set it to time lapse mode, and changed it back.
phil said:So my wife works at a dog training and boarding place. Her co-workers are, for the most part, morons. Some of it is management failing to train, but a lot of it is just laziness and plain old dumbassery. So last night they put this one large aggressive dog in a plastic crate. It had escaped that kind of crate several times before. It can't get out of the larger metal ones though but for some reason it wasn't in that one. It got out and attacked a puppy who was trapped in it's crate and maybe killed it. Puppy is at the emergency vet and I haven't heard from Wife if it's going to pull through or not. Puppy's brother won't stop crying apparently.
Like I'm just so pissed that no one ever listens to my wife and won't trust her to be in charge of this stuff like she wants. So a puppy might die because of some dumbass. It's a small business too, so if they get sued into the ground there goes her job, so there's that too.
Dave said:Surprised they let large, aggressive dogs be boarded, frankly.
phil said:The large one might have been there for training. They keep the dogs there for a few weeks while they get trained. It might have been there to help train it to be less aggressive.
phil said:But also yes, one of the things my wife has campaigned for is less aggressive dogs. No more cane fuckin' corsos for sure. But again, they don't listen to her.
phil said:Update: puppy still not out of the woods but they company is looking at a 10-15k vet bill.
And thats before the family almost undoubtedly sues
phil said:Holy shit this thing keeps getting more wild. So it apparently wasn't a large dog. I misunderstood my wife when she gave me the bullet points this morning. It was a terrier that did it. But it was there for aggression because it may have killed a dog BEFORE this incident. But the real kicker? This dog was off the books. The lead trainer, who only has a job there because he's friends with the owner, was training it off the books for his mechanic in exchange for the mechanic fixing the trainer's car.
The owner of the company didn't even know the dog was there.

When they get enough of the debris out of the road, and start letting the cars go, it still takes 30 minutes to get up to the wreck site. -that is not the rant
The last couple of hundred feet before we get to the wreckers we started zipping, letting every other car to merge. Then at the last minute some woman in God-damned hurry, driving a fucking expensive Cadillac Escalade cuts me off and forces her way into my lane. -that is not the rant.
SHE FUCKING STOPS AND RUBBERNECKS AT THE GRIZZLY SCENE FOR OVER 30 SECONDS. What a fucking ghoul. When we finally get past the wreck the next car before her is already a mile up the road. -that is the rant.
Dei said:My daughter got an 8/10 on her last math test and she can do corrections to boost it to a 9. This is the first time she's actually scored low enough to make it worth doing corrections and she is fighting me tooth and nail about doing them, while also clearly needing help on the things she missed and is refusing to ask for it.
All of this is just reinforcing my belief that she needs to learn how to do this shit now before school starts getting harder, but holy fuck is it irritating to deal with.
Keeping both of you in my thoughts tomorrow. I really hope everything goes well.I'm terrified about my dad's heart surgery tomorrow.
Soooooo... we're currently on the train on our way back to London, except the train is currently sitting in the station because, you guessed it, there was a fatality on the track just ahead of us. I'm not sure what's happening in the Maidenhead/Taplow area, but apparently the train tracks are an unusually popular place for people to converge.
