That was even my experience when I was looking for experienced IT work 2 years ago. Thankfully I still had a job when I was looking so I could afford to be picky. But most places didn't even bother communicating with me, the few that did had terrible compensation packages or limited hours or absolute crap work or combinations of the above. When my 16 year old daughter was looking for summer work, there were a ton of places advertising that they were hiring. She got zero response from every place she applied. She got a job because my wife knew someone who was hiring.
All these people complaining are either looking for over qualified people who will work for shit pay or are looking for people willing to be abused by customers for minimum wage.
Not just in the retail sector. I'm getting lots of recruiter emails that are about $30-50K below my current salary, for positions that require 10-15 years experience and leadership positions. All these people complaining are either looking for over qualified people who will work for shit pay
I hope you send a just as lengthy response rattling off a list of the (many!) ways they can go fuck themselves.I received an email at my work email address only a couple of days ago trying to tempt me away from my current position to come and work for them (full-time!) doing back-of-house inventory management and rattling off a list of the (latest!) software packages that they use to do so… for $8/hr. And when they finally got to that part of the email, they announced that $8/hr the same way Dr. Evil says, “…one millllion dollars,” as though they clearly expected that I would obviously be very impressed by their generosity.
I don’t think I’ve worked for less than $8/hr since what, 1994?

I'm very empathetic and I had to stop myself from arguing with people like this bc it would hurt trying to understand them
Best example of the distilled cognitive dissonance of Trump supporters. "Vaccines kill" "Warp Speed?" "Saved Lives"
I pretty much quit all social media. The only time I see tweets are when they are posted here or when other friends share them with me. I'm an overall happier person for it.I'm quitting twitter over political bs. Responded to this tweet with 'Choke' and caught a week's ban before I was back to my feed. It is amazing who this platform will go out of its way to protect while actual vulnerable people get harassed to death
I'll bet. I'm not gonna get angry about it, it's just tiresome trying to fight the mainstream narrative when reality is so blatant. I was never gonna change anyone's mind anyway no matter how well I argueI pretty much quit all social media. I cut out most of the national news feeds and blue checks, and I'm feeling much better now.I love twitter and think it is what you make of it.
I’m at least half with you, there. Twitter, at least, wasn’t like, “Oh we haven’t heard from you in a year and therefore require a DNA sample and a credit report before we can let you back in.”I love twitter and think it is what you make of it.
The law being contested is SB 90, which as you may remember is the law that puts restrictions on just who can drop off a mail-in ballot, how many box locations there can be (if any), keeps people from handing out water/etc to people waiting in line, and so on.The plaintiffs in the case [...] are suing Florida Secretary of State Laurel Lee[, arguing] that a new state law, which severely limits the ability to vote through a drop box or vote by mail in the state, discriminates against voters of color and violates the Voting Rights Act.

[T]he University of Florida denied all three professors permission to testify, saying it was a "conflict of interest[,” and that] "litigation against the state [of Florida] is adverse to UF's interests [since it is a public university]"
Wait, so the Republican party hasn't in fact been taken over by fascists, but by anarchist libertarians? Neat! He’s interfering with the free market. If you don’t like fentanyl just don’t take it yourself.
