They're well on their way with the recent passage of HB 1521 and soon, 1421. They are really hammering down on the T part. Once that's in as precedent, it'll be used to reinstitute old style sodomy laws, I'm sure.
Of course none of that will really affect any republicans because republicans doesn't do any of that. At least not openly.

The T part, as I said, yeah. They have yet to make it illegal to be Cis Gay/Lesbian/Bi, but I'm sure it's on their to-do. Along with interracial marriages, women's suffrage, and all the other social advances of the last 200 years.
Only the ones that kiss DeSantis’ boots in public. All others will have their assets seized by the state… you know, typical free market Republican stuff.
Sounds a bit like socialism to me.

It's not socialism. They merely want the government to control education and industry in order to maximize the party's social and political agendas, eventually serving to enrich themselves while the majority of the population suffers under the yoke of their oppression. Or, as they like to call it, "freedom" or "free market capitalism."

If it makes you feel better, the odds of that happening (at least in 2024) decline at a similar rate.

Lots of people who study the sort of thing are warning that the actual results of the democratic process may not actually determine who wins in 2024, if the GOP has their way.
In that event, DeSantis is just as likely as any other to be the beneficiary of the GOP plunging our system into fascism.

Right now, the only shot anyone has is for both of these guys to run so they can split the fanatic vote and allow someone else with some sense to win.

I don’t think there are enough reasonable republicans in America to fill a mid sized stadium.
Also I don’t think DeSantis will enter the race. That pudding commercial was an open handed slap and DeSantis has yet to attack back. Probably because he knows that Trump can and will take the fight farther than DeSantis will allow himself to go.
2028 is early enough to become the new crown prince.

The Florida Department of Education just released a list of approved books for their school systems. In the list they misspell "nineth" and "twelth" grades, repeatedly.
