Almost every day I get spam emails from the contact us link at the bottom of every screen. Most are “hey can I post links” kind of emails. Lately, though, they’ve taken quite the turn into racism and transphobia. For example, the two I got today are trying to push people to Twitter profiles. The subject lines were “it’s okay to be white” and “real women aren’t men”.

I deleted these unread just like I did all the others but I swear if this is the direction it’s going to take I might remove the contact is link. It’s only been used a couple of times anyway so I’m not sure what affect it would even have.
@GasBandit you suck

Well, it's true, i don't have any intimate knowledge of Minotaur penises (although, mythologically, he'd just have a human penis, since only the head was of a bull).

Do school me, sempai...
Boy oh boy do I have some NSFW Mugen gameplay videos to show you!

When someone says minotaur penis, why do you assume it's the penis attached to the minotaur? It could just happen to be one he has.

This coversation has me thinking of @Dave as a strip club announcer for minotaurs.

"All right everyone lets have a big round of applause and welcome back to the Halforums Lounge FERDINAND!"

Mostly because grammar ?

If it was minotaur's penis, then, yeah, it could go either way, but minotaur penis implies to me a property of the penis, without the possibility of non-attached-ownership by the minotaur.

A sign that I live in Arizona:

It is not very unusual to see a pickup truck driving down the road with a US flag (and usually one or two other "MAGA"-styled banners) attached to the hitch via a flagpole, or ones in the bed of the truck flying Old Glory. Those are so common in this state you don't even blink as it rolls down the road, rollin' coal.

What IS unusual is seeing that same flagpole in the middle of a truck bed... of a Rivian R1T.

For those of you unaware, Rivian is the maker of all-electric trucks, most notably for all-electric delivery vans for Amazon (of which I see these on a regular basis).

My wife and I work for a biotech company that has a branch in Germany. They have suggested that my wife would be a good candidate to set up a division that my wife has expertise in. They would find a position for me too. It would only be a year or so.

However, we just bought a house in 2018 and refinanced in 2020. I don't want to sell if I don't have to. Our kids are elementary and preschool-aged. I am unsure about how they would handle this. The two oldest are quite adventurous so I think they would be fine.

This is by no means a done deal. It is something we wanted to do when we were in grad school. We thought a year in Europe would be amazing. That was before kids, mortgage, cars, and a house full of stuff.

We loved our time abroad with a 2nd grader, kindergartner, and infant, even (especially?) when COVID hit. Do it if you can. Hire an agency to manage your house as a rental for a year.

This was your sabbatical? Which countries?
Yup. One month in Belize (we would have loved to stay longer but the visa requirements were restrictive), 3 months in Barbados (1 month would have been plenty), Christmas in the U.S., and then 3 months in Brisbane followed by 3 months in New Zealand. Except for COVID struck while we were in Brisbane and NZ locked down. We had sold our house before leaving the U.S. and everything went remote when my sabbatical ended anyways, so we stuck around another year. We never made it to NZ, but living in Brisbane for 18 months was great!

I know I'm old and crotchety and everything but I am so tired of zoomers shouting "LET'S GOOOO" at everything like they're pokemon and that's their name.
