I don’t know, but it feels like the whole “51st state” thing is overblown. It’s just dumb MAGA shit meant to “trigger the libs.” I don’t actually see any invasion or attempts at annexation happening.

Most of what Trump is doing is meant to "own the libs." That's why he and his goons are hollowing out the civil service and public health. Most people who work in those sectors are educated and worldly types; if a USAID contractor wasn't curious about other cultures then they wouldn't be in USAID. They're the "cosmopolitan elite" that Trump voters feel are looking down on them.

So whenever Trump or Musk declare that this agency or that program needs to die, the Trumpsters cheer it on from their barstools. I've observed no other demographic more inclined to shout commentary at local news.
