Took the kid I was working with today to a local museum-sort place. There was a display on the history of the Newfoundland fishery. The kid made some sort of comment about it being scary, so I asked him where he thought fishsticks came from. He was quiet. I joked with him that if they didn't fish, I wouldn't be able to have my snack later (showing him a can of kippers I had in my satchel).
He looked up at me with a frown and told me very sternly "You shouldn't hurt fishes!"
My vegetarian friends would be so proud.
He had no problem with the section on whaling and sealing though. Strange, that.

I had really bizarre dreams last night. I don't even remember much besides being very very confused. I think it says something when dream-logic doesn't make sense, even when you're still in the dream.
What I do remember is that part of the dream was a mix of Fullmetal Alchemist and Calvin & Hobbes. When I reflected upon this after waking, I decided it would be a totally awesome idea! Ed as a short little kid in red who has an imaginary friend who is a toy knight. Al would pounce on him as soon as Ed got home, and then would turn into a stiffly posed toy, complete with a square base that has a little plaque ("Royal Knight" or something), whenever someone else was around.
*sigh* If I had artistic talent I'd make that idea real as fast as I could.

I sleep-texted my brother. I had a dream that he was in trouble, woke up, and texted a half-asleep "u ok?" In the morning I realized he had sent me one that read, "yeah... you? home soon." It was fun when I woke up enough to realize what had happened.
Also, it's fun reading over my old blog entries. It's weird how much people change in small ways from day to day.
