Awesome.

Now, all you people keep in mind that I still have a year of school left here, and I'm not about to spend that year doing any planning. So you have ample time to find a ride. :p
I don't know where we're going to be in the coming year (and for the next couple of years), so I can't find a ride yet.

YES, but you have all that time to come up with a world-changing invention, make billions, and simply pick up all the users in your private jet. :D

Congrats CG :D
It was nice to get an idea of where things are headed (and kinda when) after being kinda stationary for so long. It's hard to see things move forward when you don't get to live in the same place most of the time.

I've counted it up, and for the 6 years we've been together, I've been away for 3 and a half... almost 4. One constant through all the changes that have come in my life is that I want him to be a part of it. We already knew that about each other, but we always talked about living together or being married as this faraway thing. Now that I'm graduating in a year, we're both starting to think about what we want to do when I get back. It's wonderful. Am I a growed-up? :D

OOoooooh! When that happens can I say "Good news everyone..." like Professor Farnsworth?

Heh, let me know where & when sometime two weeks prior to the event and I'll probably make it, CG. I live in SC right now, but may be in Atlanta by then, so could serve as a pit-stop/gathering point for anyone further up the east coast. :D

Congrats, CG!

I dunno where exactly in Cajunland you are, but it's 1,672 miles between Los Angeles and New Orleans. I prolly can't afford to make it unless some sort of carpool system is arranged :(

Yes, but you have to record your voice while doing it and post it here or it doesn't count!

MOD HAS SPOKEN.

Congrats CG :-D
If you don't do it in 2010 but wait 'till 2011, I might be able to incorporate it in a big trek across the USA and make it too :-D

In my own win: I may or may not have :hump: four times last night :smug::unibrow:

Damn youuuu!

I just hung out with an old friend of mine from home, who I used to have a crush on. I still do nurse one to this day. We've gone seperate ways, and it just would never work now. But she knew I liked her back then, and decided to date jerks instead. (The kinds of guys who get expelled on any given thursday, get banned from wal*mart, get drunk and take sexual advantage of a girl who just isn't there yet ... )

Of course, during a silence at lunch after discussing a long line of boyfriends she had over the years, she looked at me, nodded to herself and said simply "You know, we really should have dated ... "

:Leyla:

A little disappointing, but honestly I don't take it seriously enough to throw it in the Rant thread. It was still a win anyways, though, because I got to see a good friend for the first time in far too long. She's really matured.

Sorry man.

It's just still all a crazy novelty for me, I'll cut it out.
Don't do it! Self amputation isn't good for your health!

And now for my EPIC WINNAGE.

Winnage?

I meant WINNERATION!

Today I sarted, for like the first time in my 23 years of life*, a conversation with a stranger trying to become friends!

I still find that kind of talk eleven flavours of awkward, but man, I did it and it kind of worked!

I mean, I have talked to strengers, but it's them who take the first step.

Also, she is kind of attractive, in the "I'm taller than you, and you are six feet tall" kind of way.

*Technically 22 until next week.

Silver Jelly: Awesome! I've been trying to make it a part of my daily philosophy to talk to strangers. It gets easier, I assure you.

Now, if only my brother wouldn't keep telling me I was lame every time I started a conversation. Or my friends for that matter. I'll talk to a cashier, or sales clerk, or just a man on the street, and sometimes they'll give me a look somewhere between "You're supposed to be with us!" and "Hurry up, Rob, why are you talking to that person anyways?"

Ooft.... I've been there. That phrase was like a kick in the pants. But believe me, you'll find someone better who appreciates you without needing a flashing neon sign "hey Im dateable" :tongue1:

Well, the girl said no... but my feelings are out there and it hasn't seemed to have effected our friendship... so... win? I guess? In a way? If you sorta squint at it?

Don't be so modest, now you have to go out on the town and fully enjoy an evening of gambling, hard liquor, and hookers.

Honestly, I'm of the opinion that just coming out with it and telling someone close to you how you feel just leads to heart ache. Every time I've tried to do it, I've ether gotten laughed at or cut out of their life. It's good in theory, but you REALLY need to have good self esteem to be able to take the rejection.

That being said, it's a GREAT way to see if things could have possibly ever worked out between two people. If they don't take it well, it really shows you that they aren't the person you thought they were and it's better to know now than later.

Not a very epic win, but I had a very nice evening with Left 4 Dead. Me and my flatmate on our console and two friends from high school on a console halfway across the country. I only see those two a couple of times a year so it was great to shoot the breeze and eat some brains. :)

I meant to tell you before it was awesome that you were going for it, and I still think it is, especially since the friendship is still good. You totally have the right idea, wanting to be with someone who's your friend first, and if you had the guts to do it this time, you will again when you're with the right woman. And then you'll have no regrets. So right on.
