I'm barely surviving on Easy. It's why I don't play with people online. Everyone would hate me.

The bots can be pretty stupid, they're definitely not helping you stay alive. I'd be glad to play on Easy with you. I don't care how bad people are, as long as they're not griefing. There is a world of difference between playing with bots and playing with a good team. Things are a lot more fun with human players, even if those human players aren't very good. In fact, one of the most enjoyable games I've had recently was with Shawnacy and two random newbies (at least they were new to the Hard Rain campaign). Shawnacy and I were pretty much carrying the team, on Normal, for the first half of the campaign, and we even had to use a defib while crossing the cane field, but all that tension (caused in part by my rookie mistakes) made for some great moments. It wasn't as good as some of the awesomeness in other games, but it was heaps better than any time I've had with bots.

I never play with bots because the game feels boring and pointless. I'd play Easy with you CG, and I wouldn't get bratty like the people you're worried about online. I think the HF community is pretty good-natured with that stuff.

Expert might be easier in L4D1 but you'd still hate it because the main cause of death is overwhelmingly friendly fire.

I should get back to Dragon Warrior 8. I've had it for ages, but never finished it.

The reason that everyone looks like DBZ characters is because the character designer is the same guy who created DBZ.

If you spend a few turns gathering "Tension" (which increases the amount of damage/healing you do for one attack massively) to the max level, everyone turns purplish and has the firey glow around them like in DBZ. In the US version, the Hero even gets Saiyan spikey hair when he's maxed!

Bayonetta. Probably among the craziest action games I've played. Oh and Dragon Age: Origins.

I got the demo for Bayonetta and dear god, I had no idea what was going on in most of the battles. My eyes and brain just don't process information that fast, I guess. I just started hitting buttons as fast as I could and seemed to do ok, but could never tell when I was attacking, when they were attacking, when I took damage, etc. It all just blurred together.

My son got Ben 10 Protector of Earth for Christmas. I gotta say--it's a fun game in the classic side scroller style. It doesn't hurt that I kind of like the Ben 10 series.

I was a little overwhelmed at first, but I live for action games. So I adapted pretty quickly to all the colors and information on the screen. As I progress through the game, I'm constantly forced to create new tactics and techniques as using the same button mashing attacks will only get you so far.

When I play this, I get the same feeling I did when I first tried out DMC. It's a good 'un.

Finally started Silent Hill: Origins. Very cool so far, but I have to say that they could have fleshed out the protagonists reactions a bit more, or at least explain why the following is not included in the dialog: "Gee, I really want to know what happened to the little girl I saved in that fire, but since a nurse with no face just tried to stab me with a syringe, perhaps I'll just tip the fuck out of town instead and call it an unsolved mystery".

Still, it's been a while since a game made me dread trying the next door. Some day I'll understand why I enjoy it.

After finishing Saints Row 2 recently (not with 100%, but finished all the same) and still needing a fix, I picked up GTA4 yesterday. Man, it seems so much more serious, so much less fun. Here's hoping it picks up.

Also, I wonder if it could beat Metal Gear Solid in cutscene minutes.

I've been playing Red Faction: Guerrilla, even though it's taxing my processor (2.5Ghz Core 2 Duo) to it's limit. I don't know if I've got some setting wrong, or if I need to reinstall Windows worse than I thought, or what, but multiple explosions can cause the game to freeze up for several seconds at at time, and frame-rates are kind of choppy in general. I'm pretty sure it's not my video card holding things back. Oh well, the game is fun, and maybe if I overclock my processor (something I planned for when building this rig) I'll be able to get some smooth gameplay.
