What are you playing?

Just beat Uncharted and cripes, that game was an exercise in frustration. Most especially the final boss.

"Hey player! Remember how we taught you to dodge laser sights that saved your hide through most of the game? Well, SCREW that noise! Even if the final boss isn't even aiming at you, he's going to fill you with lead. Oh, and you have no weapons, so you have to duck and dodge behind stuff to get close. And then it's two quick time events to end it! Doesn't that sound like FUN?!"

Fuck that shit. This is almost enough to turn me off of the sequel, though I've heard it's a hell of a lot better.

Bioshock 2 and GOW 3.

I am enjoying BOTH immensely. Although I'm getting my ass kicked in BS2 right now.

Soulsilver.

Yes, it is a game I played 10 years ago - for me, that is actually quite good. I remember discovering the data loss of aught' eight, which saw the near-extinction of Gold and Silver files. Enjoying it so far.

Have you messed with the Pokewalker at all? I do a 2-mile walk in my commute, so this thing kicks ass for getting extra captures, items, and levels.

Not yet - just got started yesterday - I'll probably mess around with it later. Is it noisy at all, or something you can up your step count on the sligh?

FYI, it's already been discovered that you can simply twirl the thing around and gain stuff faster than walking with it.

You can silence it.

As for slinging it around, that sounds like a lot more work than carrying it in your pocket while just walking. Steps earn you watts; watts can be loaded into the DS cart to unlock new courses, or used in the Pokewalker itself while you have a Pokemon inside to catch new Pokemon or find items, which change based on which course your Pokemon is walking on.

Getting level ups seems a little slow though. Not sure if it actually matters what level a Pokemon is on, but my 2 miles seems to only get one level up regardless. Probably not the best way to level though, since it might learn moves you didn't want it to.

I don't think they took into account Pokemon species when having messages come up when one comes back from a stroll. I had my Onix in the Pokewalker, put it back. He was so excited "he wanted to jump on your back". This is a two-ton snake made of rocks, not some Pikachu.

Now we have the fun line "Is that an Onix in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"

Civ IV Beyond the Sword, week 7 of a massive game of total destructiohn
I just picked up the demo a few days ago. if I like it I might get the complete edition. Getting too old for "twitch gaming" I think.

Tried the Little Big Planet demo.

Oh. My. God. This game is...for lack of any better description...delightful. It's just so fun and adorable. I'll be picking this up as soon as I can. Anyone know how much more content is on the Game of the Year edition?

I got to play 4 player Perfect Dark on my friends X-Box last night. It was hilarious to climb into an area and have people say "Holy shit, I forgot about that!" Very nostalgic.

I'm giving Deus Ex: Invisible War a shot. So far I find the inventory system colossally stupid, and the plot seems really unfocused, but I'm still enjoying it much more than Fable.

I'm so glad I broke my Final Fantasy addiction a long time ago.

*goes back to grinding for Adamant Armor and Onion Equipment in FFIV:DS*

I just wanted to say, I'm so loving GOW 3 right now. It's simply amazing. This red wine is pretty good too.

Been playing a buncha games lately:

Wolverine
The graphics aren't nearly as gorgeous as other games, but they serve the purpose. The game itself is violent, gory and cathartic. And FUN. It was effing awesome when I realized I could jump onto the chopper at the end of the first level. The boss fights are starting to get a bit repetative, but it's a pretty fun game.

Metal Gear Solid 4
I used to be a big fan of the series, but this? This is taking the idea of cut scenes to a whole new level. I want to play a game, not fucking watch it.

Assassin's Creed
Kinda fun. Bought it used for $10, so I'm going to give it an honest chance. I kinda dig the setting but the gameplay is a little frustrating. Particularly when you're running fast on a horse, which apparently makes everyone want to kill you. Assholes.

Tornado Outbreak
I mighta mentioned this on here, already. It's a very blatant Katamari ripoff, but it's also kinda fun. It's not great, but worth the free rental.

Shawn White's Snowboarding
Sht up! Just...shut up. It came free with Assassin's Creed (buy used game for $10, get a $5 for free). But you know...it's kinda fun! I'm not sure if I'm doing badly in the game because the game sucks or I suck. I wasn't even planning on trying it before selling it back for credit, but...yeah, I don't know. It's perplexingly fun.

Scrabble. I has many frags.
That's one to remember :D.

I'm becoming a stalling-loser with Pokemon. I don't want to leave Goldenrod, where the grooming place, GTS center, breeding place, national park, and mini-games section are, which means my "great Pokemon gym challenge" has slowed to a crawl. I know if I just keep going I'll get Fly eventually and can come back whenever, but it's hard to leave this hub of usefulness.

Julie is playing through Final Fantasy X again, and reminding me what a good game it is. It's really making me itch to play another big RPG of its type, perhaps even give FFXII another chance or play FFXIII whenever we get a PS3. What I'd really love is if Sony would get Xenogears and Legend of Dragoon onto the PSN store so I could get them on my PSP. I'd be happy with FFVII being on there if I hadn't played it to death as a kid. In fact, most of the PS1 games of interest on there are ones I did everything in multiple times, except Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which I've never played.

STILL trying to beat deity at CIV4 and when i have some free time, i go play EVE

why the fuck did i buy that new config for again ? :D

I finally finished Deus Ex the third time through, so I did all three endings. Also, I think I tried everything there is to try in the game.

I'm playing the original God of War. Yes, I am behind the times.
I just beat it again yesterday. I've been watching videos of GOW 3 on youtube and longing for a ps3 or at least a copy of GOW 2 that doesn't freeze once you get to the island of creation.

So, I take it the game grew on you despite the dated graphics?
Oh yeah, definitely. Get past that graphics hump, and it's an absolute gem.

Steep learning curve though. That first mission on Liberty Island almost made me want to quit and delete the game.

Now that I have my DSi XL, I'm immersing myself in Mario Kart DS and Scribblenats, which is proving more difficult than I expected.

:slap:
best Castlevania game ever made. By far. I mean, its like everything you love about castlevania, and none of the bad stuff. Plus its MASSVE. Think I got to like 98% completion (doing both castles, so I guess that's more like 196%?)

Thank Japan, you finally made a game that isn't made of fail (JRPGs).

What did you end up specalizing in? I always loved using the sniper rifle, because at high levels you can shoot out security cameras and turrets.

I'm working my way through Deus Ex: Invisible War right now. It feels a lot like the first game, despite being consolized. I don't think it's as good a game, but I'm enjoying more than I expected (maybe because my computer is much more powerful than anything available at the time, the load times are still pretty long.) I've gone with: Health regeneration, nerual interface (hacking), EMP melee attacks, strength enhancement and speed enhancement.

As much as DE:IW was "streamlined" (dumbed-down in most cases) it still reminds me of a lot of what I didn't like about the first game. Among other things, skill paths / biomod upgrades don't really tell you what perks advanced levels will offer. I know a lot of games do this, and maybe it's supposed to make choosing more difficult, but it doesn't fit with the fiction of the world. Why would an agent trained in this stuff be almost completely unaware of what higher level augmentations offer?
