When you attack someone it goes to an error page. The attack does work you just have to go back and refresh to see how it did. Ed if you want to attack me I will tell you if PMs are disabled.

No PM was sent. It worked

Literally attacking you killed EVERY soldier in my army.

I got no error message. You are still getting one when you attack? What does it say?

it takes me to a blank page that says
"Fatal error: Call to undefined function send_notice() in /home/davidn/public_html/forum/conquest/functions_conquest_village.php on line 155"

You might want to give the User faction another small bonus. +10% defense isn't up to par with 20-50% increases everyone else is getting. It doesn't need to more defense, but it needs more.

This reset's a perfect time for me to retire from the game. It's easier to just sit back and watch everyone else play. :)

I hadn't checked this thread for awhile so I was a bit surprised to see my city gone but I am all for the new rules.

eh the new rules make it so..slow. the 1 point for attacking is nice but 3 for 1 troops sucks :(

gg everyone. I still feel the need to turtle to compete though. Too bad it's the only compounding way to gain.

So I am wondering....

Are we keeping the Conquest game? And if so, can we have a direct link on the top menu.

I do like the game and should make it permanent.

Just my 1/2 a cent.

I can't seem to get anywhere in the game. I spend all my turns making troops just to have them killed while I wait for more turns.

That's how it went the first time around, hence why I didn't participate in the second one.

I figured the new rules would have prevented turtling so much but....

So, is everyone pretty much turtling now?
Not me. I'm starting to ramp up my Offensive capabilities to go on a wild spree of violence. I think I need to do something to make weapons cheaper than armor though. It does seem like a turtle-fest again.

The main problem is that once you reach a certain unit total, you sort of out pace anyone who'd be a viable target. I'm running low on targets right now, and it's kinda pointless for me to attack someone who doesn't have any money ether.

The problem is that if I up the amount of money you get per soldier people will still use it to turtle.

There's a fine line between finding a game that is set up for offense without making it impossible for newcomers to get in on the game.

This time was much better than the last but there's still turtling going on.

Is their options to make the spy system more robust so you can be more offensive through infiltration? Like stealing money or better yet causing dissent in groups to make attacking a target easier?

Or is there a way to give a smaller nation group a defense bonus for having less people on it? You can't attack allies correct so being on the biggest team allows you less chance of being targeted as well as more allies to have to revenge on someone or to share intel with.

Once I started to beef up my defense people started to leave me alone as well.

I started to do some offensive, but a "successful" campaign against Vycos nearly wiped me out.

Oh, and I do like the idea of offensive being cheaper than defensive.

I upped the cost of keeping spies on your roster to 10 gold per turn, but I also upped their effectiveness. Now each spy on a mission adds 10% to the accuracy of the information.

I'll work on the offensive/defensive stuff and see if I can make them more like I have over at the soldiers thing.

I upped my defense tremendously for the hell of it, and still get wasted by those with a smaller force. Ah well, ill pulll the gold out of those items, and put it into offense and jsut blitz til there is nothing left on my side, I guess.

Wish I could look at the source code - it doesn't make sense:

I attacked Vycos:

Offense rating: 114474
Vycos Defense rating: 170543

It says I failed, but...

Troop loss (me): 7233 Troops
Troop loss (Vycos): 9628 Troops

If he has a greater defense, I would have expected me to lose more. I suspect it takes into account army size (I had over 100k troops, he had over 60k).

I can't attack anyone, and I'm untouchable (well, to the extent where everyone in every nation would have to attack me, everyone suffering greater losses than me individually, but collectively bringing me down to 0). No one is working together, which I think is the point of this game system.

But I'm not sure there's a way to tweak it to avoid this scenario, it's inherent in the game design.

I miss tradewars 2002.
