Not that it's a given they'll win, but the Western Conference winner is going to be a HUUUUGE favorite in the Cup Finals.

Well it the Flyers win it will be 7 v 8 in the East and 1 v 2 in the West. And based on Bostons newly found lethargic offence, the Flyers will most likely win.

What goalie is playing for the Flyers anyway? Some call up tonight or have the other two healed enough to play?

I think Leighton is in goal tonight. Boucher is out for the season with a pulled MCL.

Even if the Cryers pull it off tonight, there is NO way in hell they're going to rock past the Hab's defense. The Capitals and the Penguins both bent the Flyers over during the regular season, and they got bested by Montreal.

I hope...

I won't be able to go to work anymore if the Flyers win the cup.

Then go flyers, I don't want any Boston team doing good in anything, though Philly usually chokes so I doubt they will win the cup.

ow, what the hell, Boston? I don't have TV and CBC only puts the Canadian teams' games online, so I couldn't do more than check the score. Checked during the first period, 3-0 Boston. come back later and check the score and the Philly's won 4-3? Seriously?

Good lord.

So I'm cheering for the Habs in the East and San Jose in the West, although a Chicago vs Montreal final would probably be more interesting and I'm sure is what way more people want since its an original six matchup. I just don't want to see Chicago go any further (I like Toews, but I hate Buffy).

I just want to say this. FUCK THE ORIGINAL SIX. I'm tired of their fans claiming they are the only teams that matter. As a fan of a young team, I say fuck them. The league has grown past where it was in 1966, most of you weren't even around then, The league has grown and become more popular, deal with it.

Read the history. The "Original Six" was a clique to keep outsiders out of the league and to keep certain teams up at the expense of others. At one point Red Wings owner James Norris owned or controlled The Wings, Black Hawks, Rangers *and* Bruins, all at the same time.

Bruins are massive fail. I can't believe they lost 4 STRAIGHT after being up 3-0 in the series.... worst of all up 3-0 after the first period last night. The score.... REFLECTED THE SERIES.

1942 dead wings remain the only team to lose a championship series after leading 3 games to 0, choking the cup away to Toronto.

No time to be bitter about the Pens loss. It's now the Habs' sacred duty to kick the Flyers' teeth in.

Ummmm... go Sharks? I guess?

I always feel bad for the Sharks. They are, without a doubt, the best team in the SF Bay Area right now out of all sports. Yet they get almost no love or attention from people and/or media around here. It's better right now because they've gone so far in the playoffs, but 90% of the time they are largely ignored here. Typically you will find an article about their games on page 3-4 of the local sports section, while our football teams (even the dismal Raiders) get front page treatment during their offseason. I just don't think hockey is a big part of the culture around here, certainly not like it is in other parts of the country.

I have nothing positive to say about that game. Pathetic across the board.

Phily wanted it more, so much more.

Man, Montreal is playing far better than they did on Sunday, but they're still getting destroyed. Not enough traffic infront of the net, and they're too afraid to hit those much larger Flyers.

Philly is playing good hockey, Montreal isn't keeping up. I wouldn't mind Montreal losing if they were atleast playing, but honestly this is just making for some pretty boring games.

Also, Don Cherry wore like, a regular human man's suit tonight. Crazy.

I don't what team is on the ice but it wasn't anywhere close to what I've seen in the first 2 rounds.

God fucking damn it, I know the Pens would have been dominating the Flyers too. God I hate fucking upset teams that choke in the end.

If your stupid Habs don't step it up, I'm going to lose a bet with my brother-in-law and be forced to wear a Flyer's hat for the entire Stanley Cup final. Fucking stupid ass Habs. You beat out two teams with amazing superstar athletes and you can't handle a bunch of rag-tag goons?

Btw, how's it feel to have your boys play along to a fan base as obnoxious as your own?

Is obnoxious the term used for stealing license plates off all the Canadian cars and slashing their tires?

Welcome to Philadelphia, motherfuckers.[/QUOTE]

I'll never understand this Canada vs USA mentality that so many fans get watching the NHL. Worlds, Olympics? I'd still say that with that type of behaviour they're taking national pride to a childish extreme, but atleast it makes some sense. But the NHL? I'm pretty sure Philly has more Canadians playing on it than the Canadiens do.

Actually I'm pretty sure Montreal is the team with the fewest Canadians playing in the playoffs now.

Well, a reporter who was reacting to seeing his car being vandalized was spotted by a pair of Phily fans who heckled him calling him a French frog and so forth. Ironically they were wearing Jerseys of Simon Gagne and Daniel Briere.

That's priceless. Gotta give it to Philly, the city of brotherly love, where they'll pelt Santa with batteries and throw iceballs at visiting football teams. I think we should just nuke it from orbit and start over with Philly. I know that we'll have to move out some American history first, but they won't notice in Philly.

Cept cheesesteaks, we can keep those. The only nice part of Philly is downtown, where I work, and the historic district. Otherwise the whole city is a festering cesspool of shit.
