You're from Phily? That... explain things.

I'm from New York City actually. I work in Philly, and I hate this city with every fiber in my being. So please don't assume that I'm an asshole because I live in Philly suburbs. It's the equivalent of someone asking if Montreal is the same as Calgary.

Good job on the win. This is still the battle of the most obnoxious fanbases... :)

As for crying over the slashed tires. Every Penguins' away game I go to at Wachovia Center I end up getting shit thrown at me and try to avoid idiots wanting to brawl. I know to take the subway into the city for games. I like how opposing teams can actually take their children to Mellon arena without getting hassled, which is why a 3hour drive to Pittsburgh is much more enjoyable than an 1 hour ride to Philly for me. I take my nephew to a game Pens vs Flyers on occasion, and we usually have to take along a couple buddies since I get harassed even though I have a kid with me. Only time I snapped at a douchebag was when he threw a hotdog and it hit my nephew in the head. It's nice to see an asshole get carted out by security and waste his money on a 50-200 dollar ticket. People need to do their homework before attending away games at Philadelphia sports arenas. The fans are assholes; it's not going to change.

Don't get me started on Eagles and Phillies games. No fucking class.

Remember Phillies fans are the ones who boo'd Bud Selig when he was presenting them with them with the commissioners trophy for winning the world series.

Flyers fans are just as bad, what's worse is when they come out of the woodwork at Hurricane games. Many of the same fans who are your typical polite hurricane fan turn into gigantic jackasses in Flyers sweaters when they come to town.

I'll never understand this Canada vs USA mentality that so many fans get watching the NHL. Worlds, Olympics? I'd still say that with that type of behaviour they're taking national pride to a childish extreme, but atleast it makes some sense. But the NHL? I'm pretty sure Philly has more Canadians playing on it than the Canadiens do.

Actually I'm pretty sure Montreal is the team with the fewest Canadians playing in the playoffs now.
What US vs Canada mentality are you talking about? Philadelphia fans are dickheads to everyone![/QUOTE]
Oh, I believe that. But there is a Canada vs USA mentality I see a lot of the time, on both sides of the border sadly. Booing the visiting team's national anthem particualarly. Always bothers me. Even if it WERE actually a case of two different nations playing eachother, it's just rude and disrespectful. And again, it happens on both sides of the border, so its not just Americans, unfortunately it just proves Canada has idiots too.

Right down to this "Last Canadian team in the playoffs" mentality everyone up here has "How can you be Canadian and not root for Montreal?! Its the last Canadian team left! The cup needs to come back to Canada!"

I'm rooting for Montreal, but not cause they're the last Canadian team. As far as I'm concerned, they're not. I'm just in this for good hockey and good story, and seeing the last place team in the playoffs do what they've done so far to Ovie and Sid's teams makes for a hell of a story.

checkeredhat you need to come down to Raleigh next year and attend a game at the RBC center. We'll show you a good time, and sing Oh Canada with you.

Thats not that bad. Everyone boos Gary Bettman, and rightfully so of course.

Montreal is the Texas of Canada.

We generally regard Alberta as Canada's Texas. Full of cowboys it is. Newfoundland is our Ireland and Nova Scotia is our Scotland. BC is our California. Saskatchewan is a barren wasteland.

They don't boo him as he presents them with the Stanley Cup.

All fans from Phillidelphia are their own special brand of asshole.

So what's Quebec?

I swear to you there are two teams for the Montreal Canadiens, the one who plays aggressive and forechecks and the one that plays the trap 95% of the time. Newsflash, we always lose when we trap.

They did okay first period, and then they stoped skating.

I'm not going to be like so many people and write them off though, They've already had two crazy comeback series so far this playoffs, so we'll see what they do. But if they keep playing like they did in periods 2 and 3 today they don't have a chance.

I don't know who I'll cheer for if its Philly and Chicago in the finals.

I'd ask when they were going to start breaking out the Hossa features, but they already did about 2 seconds after the WCF ended.

Not sure why Pens fans dislike Chicago. Not like they even won a game in the 92 finals.

Location and Hossa, really.

Yup. Blame Hossa. You guys are gonna lose. Please let it be to the Habs, though.
I don't know what's worse. Having to deal with Flyers fans if they get into a cup, or having to hear about the Original Six.

Someone just wake me up in July.

I'll be pulling for Chicago, since I cannot stand the goons of Philly, or their team. Plus, it brings back good memories of my childhood when I got to spend a lot of time with one of the Blackhawk farm teams in Dallas. Lots of good memories there.

I step away from the game during the first intermission tied at 1. I come back a moment later and it's 3-1 Flyers? OH COME THE FUCK ON!

It's official. the Hockey Gods hate Pittsburgh this year.

After mulling it over, I've decided to cheer for Chicago and Toews. I hope Buffy can play a clean game and still get results though, cause he makes me feel dirty for cheering on the Blackhawks.
