Gaaaah, I hate you all. Why would you show me this?
To get your ass the hell away from our arcade high scores!

I just ran into another showstopper last night - The tower you see being constructed at the end of my video? Yeah, it got to be all of about 3 more meters tall before I hit the point where the game won't let you build any higher.

So bear that in mind, folks... all the world may not be hollow, but I have touched the sky. If you plan to build something real tall, start it well below the clouds... because once you get above the clouds you only get another 30 or 40 meters before you can't build any more.

today I finally figured out how the hoes work
I can't stop laughing.
yes i know, hoes/ho's

All kinds of impressive work, but it has me worried a new generation of single persons emerging from hobbit holes in 30 years.

Man, I don't read ghost stories before bedtime for a reason. I thought I was safe in this thread, but apparently not.

The night working on finishing my master's thesis (due tomorrow) will be fun.

Yeah, I started my tower way high in a mountain. Only got 3-4 floors before it wouldn't let me build higher.

That said, clouds drifting through where I mine is always nice.

My new island home is going well. I have made a bridge to the mainland, started a plantation on the island (connecting to another nearby island), and my trees are growing tall and strong. I have added cactus' as a defensive line (has already killed a couple skeletons) and learned that underwater is the worst place to die. Found much iron and many diamonds. My new plan is to kill some creepers and make some TNT to expand my cave.

So far, I've been rather disappointed by the mining applications of TNT. For the trouble you have to go through to get the ingredients, a 3 block blast radius in stone is rather underwhelming.

I may have to look into the defensive cacti... A lava moat is great and all, but it also burns up the feathers, arrows, gundpowder and string.

You know what would be nice, and a logical?
Allow the use of obsidian instead of flint to make more damaging arrows.
Wonder if that has been made on the suggestion board.

The biggest issue I have found is that they can be completely destroyed by creepers and occasionally by chopping them down to move them. They also appear to be rather rare and I'm not sure they can be "grown" in any way.

Also, Cactus can only be placed on sand and cannot be planted next to eachother (so you cannot have a solid wall of cactus, only a staggered one).

This is going to sound n00bish, but... how trustworthy PayPal is, I usually paranoid over paying stuff on-line, specially with my creditcard. =p

This is the only reason why I haven't bought the game yet.

I'm told TNT gets exponentially more powerful the more of it you place next to each other. This is why people are able to make Obsidian cannons with it to launch people miles over a map.

Also, Cactus's destroy items. If you want to work around this, put water around the cactus and have it flow AROUND the cactus, not into it. Enemies have big enough hit boxes that they will still get hit (and have trouble getting out) but most of their items will flow around unscathed. I know some MP servers use this method to farm for things like Gunpowder, arrows, and thread.

I haven't messed much with cacti. I take it, it retains its prickly damaging nature even after you cut it down and move it where you want it?

Also - I pay for my guild's ventrilo server through recurring paypal payments, and the only problem I've ever had with them is that when you cancel something that you pay for recurrently in paypal, it doesn't stop the payments automatically, you have to remember to go and cancel the recurring payments in paypal separately. Which shouldn't be an issue here. I've never had any other trouble with paypal.

Same, I first started using it in 2002, only e-checks though, but I've never had a problem with it. I've never had a credit card tied to it though other than a pre-paid one for a while. Looks like I'm going to have to soon, seems like e-checks are being completely phased out, no one really accepts them anymore, well steam doesn't anyway and that seems to be where I do the bulk of my online buying. They take about 7-9 days to clear since I'm in Canada so it's understandable as you would receive the purchases immediately and they wouldn't get payment until it did clear.

Added some columns on the second level and put in a stone floor:

Added a basement level where I've started a mine shaft going straight down. I'm so high, clouds roll through my basement:

Hey everybody, look at my long shaft! It goes real deep! :eyebrows: :

That is sarting to look nice, I bet it will look awesome when finished.

Also, I don't see much of the problem with Herobryne. I hope he is added in the game =D

Had the double whammy of hitting a lava pocket and then getting killed by a zombie I somehow missed (effectivly preventing me from plugging the lava, which then ate all my dropped items, including my diamond pick). not happy.

I just started playing.

FUCK FUCK FUCK why can't I find any coal?
have you tried to look over there

*points*
Actually, that worked well. Upon finding a mountain whose entire core appears to be made of coal, I dropped to my knees and sang praises to the randomly generated pantheon of blocky deities I worship.
