Great!
Well anyway, last night I got together with a Czech friend of mine and a bunch of her buddies at a music bar in old town Prague. It turned out to be a birthday party for her! She hadn't told me ahead of time because she didn't want me to feel obligated to bring a gift, but there we had balloons and cake and noise makers. The DJ had some issues with transitions between songs but his playlist was amazing. I've become used to hearing the same playlist at every single nightclub whenever I go out but I don't think he played a single song that you'd hear at a more mainstream club. He started the night with some disco and dance music then segued to oldies and rock n' roll, touching some 90's pop and alternative before going back to more old rock. There was everything from Elvis to Ricky Martin to the Beatles to Bon Jovi.
Most of the group left between 1:30 and 2:00 but I ended up sticking around with three others. One of them kept feeding me absinthe and Red Bulls so I was feeling pretty good. With most of our group gone, we found a couple of cute ladies to dance with which resulted in some super fun make-outs for me.
Eventually I wandered back through Wenceslas Square, noshing on a schnitzel sandwich from a street vendor while I waited for the night tram quite happy and very drunk. Pavla, the girl I danced/made out with, asked for my Skype info so I gave it to her. If she messages me, great! If not, no big deal. It was great to see my friend after so long and I had a really great night.
