I love feeling bad-ass in a video game. Usually in online games I'm lucky if I feel competent, but I had a great night in Team Fortress 2 yesterday. I think I was on the LordKaT Mafia server, and the map was Stage 2 of Dustbowl. My team was defending, and we were doing real well. Not dominating, but holding fast in pitched battle. The Blu team nearly captured point A several times. I was playing a Sniper, since that's what I often do in the rare times when it's not already over-populated. I was doing really well, for me, and got a record 8 kills in one life and dominated their spy.
Then I got team balanced to the other side, and I thought my fun time was over. Ha, I was wrong. I switched over to Medic, which is my best class as well as being necessary to push out of the starting area. It was rough going, but by keeping myself alive long enough to build a few ubers, our team finally pushed out and took the point with less than a minute to go, and then went on to just stomp past the other team and take the next control point with ease.
In short, I got to feel like I was the reason my team was winning.
