Too obvious. Belkar won't die to this guy.
I think, overall, the Order loses this battle, but I don't think Belkar is going to die here.
If Belkar dies, I think it would either be after a short burst of events that reiterate what a badass he is. Unless he's cleaning up the entire Linear Guild by himself, I don't think he's done for yet.

Here's how I think it'll go down:
Belkar, V, and Durkon will all die somewhere along this arc. Belkar and Durkon will fulfill prophecies, V's soul will be used by the IFCC for the arcane portion of the gate ritual.
Apparently Nale doesn't understand how Contractual Genre Blindness works...
Also, that should totally be a Flaw on elan's character sheet. If Mi-Max can give up the ability to rhyme on purpose, Elan can give up his ability to manipulate events he sees coming.

I wish the creator would say SOMETHING about why it's taking so long. I know Origins had something to do with it.
