The EPIC WIN Thread 3: SON OF EPIC

Thank you,
I know my way around fairly well though. I'm living in Oakville currently, and visit Toronto pretty frequently. I'm working in Mississauga, so I'm hoping to move into West Toronto/ Etobicoke area to keep my public transit commute fairly simple, while still getting out of suburbia.

Nonetheless I may take you up on that, if for no other reason than I have yet to meet another halforumite in person. I was hoping to see some familiar faces at FanExpo this year, but my family reunion has been scheduled for that same weekend.

You're welcome.

I'm always up for meeting new people. Who knows maybe I'll introduce you to areas of Toronto you're not familiar with etc... Too bad you can't make it to Fan Expo as I'll be working at Fan Expo this year. Have fun at your family reunion though.

new internet = super fast woohoo

also my new place, a trailer, is kind of a shitty place but it is mine! I am very pleased.

and it has super fast internet. I dont have a couch or a bed or other things associated with comfortable living by by god i have fast internet and that is all i need.

Been feeling really down in the dumps lately. Coupled with an increasing lack of sleep I was turning into a zombie. Brief moment of energy this afternoon and I started tidying up the house. It lasted about 5 mins, until I walked past my weight bench to put something away and thought, eff the housework. Hour later my arms and legs are jelly and I'm going to the shop to get some protein powder. BEEFCAKE!!

Best bit is I still have energy left. Let's hope this cycle of win continues.

I liked Brazil for the first two acts but the third act just drug on and on. It's an issue I've had with other Gilliam films as well. He's an extremely creative director but really needs to work on his pacing.

My uncle whom was on his deathbed this past Monday - he has two cancerous tumors - has been stabilized, and though not cured, he'll be around long enough that I can visit him before he passes away. Small miracles still count. :)

This may actually be happening tonight. :D
We are all awaiting your report.

Its looking more likely I'll be moving to Mississauga or even staying here in Oakville. (*shudder*) I hate suburbia, but I just have not found an affordable place in Toronto that is less than an hour and a half commute to work. I wish I worked in Scarborough and not Mississauga, East end Toronto seems to be MUCH cheaper than the west end.

My childhood best friend (I've known her for 24 1/2 years now) just had a baby girl!!!! She is a premie, but they are both in good health.
Do you mind if I ask how premature she was? My nephew was born 3 months premature, I was there with my sister and brother-in-law, and I know it was really hard for them. There's lots of complications with a preemie birth, and it was weeks before they even got to hold Dexter, months before they got to take him home. Its a really tough time, especially in those first few months.

But, all that aside, congratulations are surely in order, and celebration too, especially if she is doing well.

Wonder Woman earrings=Check, Superman T-shirt=Check, Angry Bird's had=Check. It must be that time of year again. FAN EXPO!!!! I'm off to Fan Expo for the very first time. I'll be working all 4 days. :awesome: Here is hoping I have time to actually check some things out. More specifically Freddie Aka Robert Englund.

Glad you had a good show after that disappointing one a while back, espy.

I had a... great birthday. Wasn't expecting it to be very eventful, but it was great. Jake got me wine glasses, a nice opener, and two bottles of Cab, my students brought me cards and cupcakes, and I found out that I'm going to be an aunt AGAIN! (Facebook friends, I don't think you will but I have to ask that you don't mention that last piece of news. It's still a little private).

Tomorrow my entire family is coming to see my apartment. I'm making a cake and punch, and afterwards, Jake's taking me out for sushi. :) I'm very happy today.

Just got back from an awesome concert! Line-up was Blackguard, Alestorm, and Kamelot (went because of Alestorm, all others were a plus). So we get to Alestorm, they play all their fucking awesome songs (minus "You are a pirate," sadly). Then Kamelot comes on stage, and they have the lead singer from Epica as their back-up vocal... And fucking Fabio Lione from Rhapsody as main vocal! It was friggin epic. After the concert I got to chat for a bit with Fabio.

Then we went to talk a bit with the Alestorm guys, had a group hug with the lead singer (he was druuunk :D), who informed us that the nearby Burger King is owned by Magic Johnson. We promised him cheeseburgers next time they come 'round Georgia.

Pics later.

Also, two different girls have asked for my number in the last two days. I guess that's also kind of win, considering they were cute.

Nice! How does Fabio Leon sound doing the vocals for Kamelot? My brother and I are still pissed about Khan leaving the band! :(

I haven't heard much Kamelot (like, maybe 4 songs) before this concert, so I'm not the best judge, but I think he might be an improvement (I'm biased, of course, because I <3 his voice).

Here, have a video of the concert, taken like 10 feet to the left of where I was :p Not the best audio ever, but you'll get the idea.

I missed your b-day announcement yesterday, so I must make up for it by posting a birthday gif for you.

The latest PAX DnD game with Kurtz, Mike, Jerry, and Wil Wheaton is currently underway.

I can't wait for the video.

There was apparently a livestream today and I forgot all about it until an hour ago. :(

BUT I spent the day making strawberry cupcakes from this recipe I found a while ago, and omg it's like an orgasm in my mouth.

My daughter is showing geekish tendencies already... she wants to hold on to the X-Box controller (the old, broken one), she giggles whenever I make murloc or wookiee noises, enjoys watching Phineas and Ferb (okay, not necessarily a geek thing, but definitely a "Daddy, not Mommy" thing)... when she gets older, I'll be busting out Star Wars and later still, the Warhammer 40k stuff... My wife is horrified (she wanted a girly-girl) *trollface.jpg*
I already have my 5 year old daughter playing Pokemon and watching Anime.... I have not yet decided if it's a good thing or a bad thing. (She and my son also run around the house pretending to throw Portals under each other, which is definitely a success)

My daughter loves Thor (which reminds me of Adventures in Babysitting). She was a little young for the movie, but we like Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Making kids nerdy is AWESOME.

...And you already know I feel like this because of all my comments about my nerdy little sister. So, really, I have no new info to add. Sorry.
