Video Game News and Miscellany

It's the Consumer Report, exactly, it's a blog poll on the Consumerist. Consumer Report owns them, but's not based on anything more than the voting opinions of consumerist readers.
Note to self, stop posting on the internet right after you wake up on the weekends, you make no damn sense (though Quotemander understood anyway).

I like how his girlfriend looks like a total hooker at the start of the game.

Overall, looks interesting. The music remix is.... suspect.
His girlfriend makes him and his brother fight to the death for her love, assuming both live to rescue her. She's not just a hooker, she's a scheming bitch.

It's hyperbolic reactions like the one you posted that allowed EA to be voted a worse company than multiple companies that have flat out done illegal things leading to deaths, economic ruin and our current housing situation.

But sure, a game company changed some games in ways you didn't like.

Yeah, First World Problems.

You know what? I like you as a poster and you regularly contribute good advice and such... but on this...

Go fly a kite...

:p

All the people who complain for some good 2D Beat-Em-Up action then get one and complain about it.

Fuck it, I'm getting it, despite the horrible Neon.

I don't remember claiming that there are no 2D beat em ups (when there are some real spectacular looking ones coming out or ones like Castle Crashers that are already around) or even clamouring for more.

That game looks like lazy trash.

I suspect Nintendo will do what it always does: Start out high, then drop the price once their competitor's machines are announced and priced.

Honestly, the only game I've heard of for the Wii U that has me interested is Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles HD. The original game was tons of fun, but I never got the chance to play it multiplayer. The Wii U's online capabilities and the tablet controller make me think they could finally give this game the release it deserved.

Nintendo generally starts out way lower than it's competitors. The only time I can think of them actually starting "high" was the 3DS, and it was still cheaper than say, the Vita.

Hell, the original SNES was 200 bucks on release day, I remember my dad getting one for my brother and I and quietly mumbling about the price of it, the extra controller and the cartridges. The Genesis (granted it was released 2 years prior to the SNES) was actually cheaper, though only by $10.

The Vita and 3DS launched at the same price (if you were getting the wifi Vita model and not the stupid 3G one that no one in their right minds would ever touch).

How did this

go under my radar? Seriously. TTT was one of the last games I played "professionally" along with MvC2. To say that TTT is one of my all time favorite fighting games is no understatement. Sadly the arcade scene is gone from the US but this could be very fun to play on a smaller scale.
There was no more room left in your brain, I'd suspect, after being told 947,413 times that she wants to take you for a ride.

PSP with a touchscreen and other little things, like Netflix and such. Not sure how much (if any) better the graphics and such are.
It's a new generation of hardware, so the graphics are greatly improved. In some games reviewers have described them as nearly PS3 quality, but I take that to mean they're a leg up on PS2 graphics but not quite to PS3 levels. The biggest thing about the PSVita's graphics, though, is the OLED screen, which looks jaw-dropping from what I've heard.

Ok I'm having trouble deciding what to play since finishing Dead Island, my options are:

Darksiders
Mass Effect 1,2,3
Terraria (Hard Mode)
Skyrim
Crisis 1,2

Advice?

I'm on my, like, third recent playthrough of ME2, going through the classes I've never tried before. So I might be biased, but I say play Mass Effect.

I'd also like to note that the Sentinel class is crappy, until you learn how to play the Sentinel, at which point it's godly.

DARKSIDERS!

I'd say play through that quick before diving into the other time sinks. It's a great game that borrows heavily from the zelda formula but manages to be a good game in it's own right.

Plus, it takes place during the apocalypse, so it should be right up your alley.
