Here are some of my opinions on Iran and it's possible nuclear weapons development program.
The first question that needs to be assessed is whether or not Iran does in fact have a weapons dimension in it's nuclear program. It seems fairly likely they had one until 2003, though it is uncertain...
Excellent. Unfortunately it's past 2 am on Saturday over here, and I've had an indeterminate number of beers. I think I'll go to bed, but I will get back to you on Iran tommorrow.
Edit: I will preface my position by saying that military action against Iran may well become necessary, though I'm...
You were the one who posted the article, so I kind of took it for granted that you had at least a passing interest in discussing it's contents. I was referring more to what followed after your post.
I find it amusing that conversation regarding GB's previous article focused solely on Obama and his Nobel Peace Prize, and that not a single thought was voiced over ANY aspect of policy or strategy, or even morals, behind a situation where one country is threatening to commit an act of war...
As something of a possible analogy, a while back I was discussing politics with an older gentleman I know very well. I can't remember the exact subject, but it is irrelevant all the same. I was expressing my usual, rather cynical views on the possible agendas and links between the civil servants...
Quotes a first-page post from you, and completely ignores the fact that it was made with the limited information available at the time regarding OP's situation. Takes a minor point or careless turn of phrase in the quote that could be interpreted to mean something odd, and expands that into a...
Condescendingly stating how it was supposedly obvious that the OP meant the one thing out of the two.
Subtly calling into question the intelligence and worth of the poster who asked the question.
A bit of both as I recall. In 2009 Germany launched tax cuts and stimulus package bigger than anything in their modern history (1,6% GDP). I've been led to believe that's a rather Keynesian approach to these matters.
In 2010 they announced heavy austerity measures to tackle deficit, though...
Are you quite sure about your dates? Germany declared war on the United States in December 1941, whereas the wikipedia page for Casablanca indicates the studio bought rights to the film in January 1942, and the filming took place between May and August. The film premiered in November, to...
In the movie Casablanca, the german soldiers in the cafe were originally supposed to sing the Horst Wessel Lied, until the producers realised it was still under german copyright. That would have been no problem amongst the Allies who were at war with Germany, but might have posed complications...
Yeah, there was (edit: unofficial) an international competition organised between 1999 and 2010 in Finland. The temperature began at 110 degrees Celsius, and a litre of water was poured on the stove via a forcet every 30 seconds. The winner is the one who left the sauna unaided last.
They...
If I may ask, how hot were the two saunas? Over here, finnish saunas are between 70-100 degrees Celsius, depending on the person's taste. I like about 80 degrees which seems to be the norm, and the sauna world championships begin at 110 degrees.
In addition to getting her the usual flowers, I made lunch. It was an exquisite example of culinary delights (macaroni and cheese). I managed to f it up good. And burn my hand on the oven.
Yeah, I'm a real wizard around the kitchen...
So we agreed I'd wash the windows next week. And clean...
I blame false advertising. If I don't get what I want, then it is always someone else's fault. Obviously.
The troops are preparing to storm the breach?
I'm a bit confused here. Either this couple should have a right to their sexual relationship, which means everyone else needs to deal with it regardless of their personal squick factor. Or they should not have the right, in which case they've done something rather bad. I got the distinct...
It does sound trivial, unnecessary, and unhelpful in correcting any real problems. On the other hand, it doesn't hurt either, seems simple enough to implement, and the signal being sent might tone down some of the more pointless whining from detractors. So I think I can see why they did it...
