It seems to me that the people doing the shooting are not the same people protesting to "open the economy." Smells like another case of being "disrespected."

thank goodness they had easy access to fire arms so they could conceivably fight for our rights against a tyrannical government.
Or, y'know, in case something like this happens:

You're right, of course. These were probably people who were fed up with authority and decided to take their frustrations out on someone who could conceivably be mistaken for such, although low enough on the totem pole that they posed no real threat.

Trump Contradicts Nurse About PPE Availability

"I think it's sporadic," answered Sophia L. Thomas, president of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. "I mean, I talk to my colleagues around the country. Certainly there are pockets around the country where PPE is not ideal, but this is an unprecedented time."

Dolt45 contradicted her saying that it was sporadic for her, but not everywhere. Like some dumbass trying to say "flooded, for you, but there's not flooding everywhere" in the aftermath of Harvey. If you can't supply every hospital with the PPE they need, then there is a supply problem, period.

He's contradicting someone calling it sporadic by using the definition of sporadic, and I can't even.

My husband's office just had an all hands today and told everyone to work from home until September at the earliest.

My dental school will see patients by early Jun, on a limited basis. The Pharmacy school decided to shut down until January.

My husband said that productivity has actually been up overall since people have been home. :p
Well, a-doy. WE know that taking a break from the constant formality of the office atmosphere can boost productivity. I was referring to that kind of productivity the autonomous suits expect, where everything runs on a schedule and has a paper trail and has to be dusted with non-dairy coffee creamer and filtered through an Excel spreadsheet before it can be pronounced "valid."

Well I think in this case, productivity is up because people have nothing else to do, and no where else to go.

I just want Trump and Pence to get sick and knocked out of commission long enough for Nancy to take over at this point. Also so that I don't have to have a panic attack everytime RBG sneezes.

Also, I'm kind of surprised that Trump doesn't wear a mask, I thought I heard he was a huge germophobe.

It also has a lot to do with the fact the only thing Trump ultimately cares about existing beyond his death is his BRAND. He wants to make sure he, and thus his brand, seems indestructible.

It's important to remember that while yes, Trump is a germophobe, he's also monumentally stupid and doesn't understand how germs work. He eats fast food because he somehow thinks it's cleaner.

Well, that and he's paranoid about someone poisoning his food at a sit-down restaurant. Maybe not so paranoid nowadays.

One thing I'm confused by is number of people who are saying "no one saw this coming". Experts have been warning about the inevitability of a pandemic for years.

Also, I'm worried by people saying "we can't just shut down our economy every time there's a virus". The alternative is a whole lot worse, when the virus is this bad. We absolutely can slow down our economy to prevent millions of deaths. That is absolutely something we can, and should, do in face of such a dire threat to human lives.

"More people will die from the economy than from the virus, so we must open up the economy!"

See, that's rich people thinking. Rich people kill themselves when they lose their money.

Poor people? Poor people think Tuesday came early when they lose their money.
