And not in a good way.maybe COVID-19 will fix social security.
In my reference it would be for the "lulz"I have never once locked a political thread.
So no disputing anything that I actually said. Instead shifting the goal posts to "Well the Trust fund won't last forever" despite the trust fund lasting forever never being part of the argument before you realized that the SSA never prepared for the baby boomers retiring was unsustainable.I have never once locked a political thread.
Even your own left-leaning source (CBPP is famously pro-redistribution) acknowledges that Social Security IS pay-as-you-go, just like a ponzi scheme. Even if the historical surplus HAS been put into treasury bonds, that is literally just the mechanism to move the money out of SS and into the general coffers where it has been spent. Historically, the government has made good on its bonds... going forward? I'm not so sure I'm as confident on that as I once was, and even if they do, your source once again points out that that "surplus" is 15 years from being completely depleted.
Explains a lot.Even my parents knew (and have been warning me) since I was 6 years old that I had little to no chance to actually collect social security when I retire.
Surprised that COVID-19 would solve the Social security problem the same way Libertarians would by having them die in massive numbers. Unsurprised that you seemingly have little problem with this solution. But hey, maybe COVID-19 will fix social security.
Entirely not what I said, but thanks for playing. What I said was that the "trust fund" is a shell game, leaning on the rep of Treasury bonds to seem legit, when it is, in fact, an IOU, no matter how much the CBPP would have you believe otherwise - and they'd like us to.So no disputing anything that I actually said. Instead shifting the goal posts to "Well the Trust fund won't last forever" despite the trust fund lasting forever never being part of the argument before you realized that the SSA never prepared for the baby boomers retiring was unsustainable.
Do I need to start putting humor tags around my gallows humor for forum users incapable of detecting it?Surprised that COVID-19 would solve the Social security problem the same way Libertarians would by having them die in massive numbers. Unsurprised that you seemingly have little problem with this solution.
Speaking from experience, at times it can be difficult for people to notice the context switch.Do I need to start putting humor tags around my gallows humor for forum users incapable of detecting it?
From your statementEntirely not what I said, but thanks for playing. What I said was that the "trust fund" is a shell game, leaning on the rep of Treasury bonds to seem legit, when it is, in fact, an IOU, no matter how much the CBPP would have you believe otherwise - and they'd like us to.
So that is in fact something that you have in fact said.your source once again points out that that "surplus" is 15 years from being completely depleted.
I knew you were trying to make a joke. I'm not convinced you don't believe it you ghoul.Do I need to start putting humor tags around my gallows humor for forum users incapable of detecting it?
Yeah, as in pointed out before, the money you have in the bank is also an IOU, because they don't actually have the liquidity to pay everyone if they all wanted it at once.when it is, in fact, an IOU, no matter how much the CBPP would have you believe otherwise - and they'd like us to.
He learned a lot from his meeting with kim jongBut...there are pictures...and video...and...fuck it. People will still buy it.
Speaking of which, Kim Jong Un is reportedly in grave danger following surgery tonight. He learned a lot from his meeting with kim jong
Grave danger.Grave danger?
sigh. Fine.If a moderator could maybe alter the spoiler tag to more accurately reflect the content of the spoiler? Because it is most DEFINITELY not the ol' BNTL screed.

And Palmer is dead!!!!!Lol, what? The guy spends more on golf than Arnold Palmer.
When DA originally said he had just been in surgery, I considered asking, "Did they find his head?" but I refrained. We knew that. How’s his health?
I had the chance to immigrate to New Zealand back in 2009, but I got accepted into grad school instead. I don't regret staying Stateside because I would have been working outside Christchurch when the earthquake hit. But now I'm thinking I really should take the plunge while I'm still young. This country makes me sad. My wife keeps saying maybe we need to see if we can expat somewhere else, and I don't thing she's wrong.
In his lifetimeAnd Palmer is dead!!!!!
Oh, it got raided, and don't pretend Democrats weren't at the table chowing down just as much. But you're finally coming around to my point - the money is gone. Long since spent. All that remains is a promise to pay it back later. Now if you want to talk about how Republicans raided the fuck out of the social security trust fund for tax cuts and the utterly worthless Iraw war that you still believe was worth it we can definitely talk about that.
Love you too, honeybuns.I'm not convinced you don't believe it you ghoul.
I'm not worried about actual objective reasons. I'm worried about typical federal government reasons (which often have little to do with objectivity, or indeed, rationality). So as long as your country still has the higher GDP in the world, i'm pretty sure actual objective reasons not to pay you your SS in old age won't exist.
I doubt there's anyone here on the forum who still needs more evidence in order to be convinced of the need to remove him, so it's not like we're going to hang on his every misstep. There are just too many.So y'all ain't talking about how senior cheeto doesn't want companies to be liable for when they open back up.
This is my understanding anyway. So y'all ain't talking about how senior cheeto doesn't want companies to be liable forwhen they open back up. anything.
I'm on the fence about him tbh. You think he's bad?I doubt there's anyone here on the forum who still needs more evidence in order to be convinced of the need to remove him, so it's not like we're going to hang on his every misstep. There are just too many.
