Okay, I want a graphic novel based entirely around this concept.
I feel like this was part of the storyline of the Southern Vampire novels (a.k.a. the "True Blood" books).
So...which side of the conversation is you, and which side is @Emrys?
it states "I did not" and not "My minions did not", so seems obvious to me!
This is something I could see happening in The Dresden Files honestly.

There's no need to explicitly say the minions did not, it is understood the minions never do.
