Ok, so maybe not all cops. Police dogs can get a pass.
Protection and search&rescue dogs, definitely.

The cops are not there to protect us.
The cops are there to enforce the moneyed interests of the ruling class.
They're just another gang. The only difference between the cops and the other street gangs is the cops get government funding.

Dad, as you love to say when you holster your pistol to go to 7-11, "When seconds count, the cops are only minutes away." Only the problem is they're triple digit minutes away. But hey, maybe I will be sorry when my house gets burglarized and the cops are not there to show up 3 hours later to write on a clipboard and tell me my stuff is probably long gone.* And then they shoot my neighbor's dog on the way out because they felt threatened.

Right, they're not here to protect PEOPLE, they are there to protect PROPERTY. Police have always been about property (look up the history of policing in the United States).
