Funny (political, religious) pictures

When it comes to the old Assault Weapons ban, yes, @GasBandit is completely right. A lot of the things banned were banned because they were scary looking, not because they had any dramatic effect on the capability of the weapon. It made it so that many weapons that were clearly designed as sporting rifles by their manufacturers were suddenly assault weapons.

Saying that they think the USA is the scariest place in the world is such horrifying myopia. I can think of a bunch of places (Somalia being only one of the worst offenders) to live other than the USA. Canada is BETTER of course, but hey, the USA isn't the worst. Not by a longshot.

Think of how much American culture and news permeate other countries, then compare and contrast with how much news coverage fragile states get. The choice isn't made by a comparison of all 200+ states and their statistics, but by a comparison on how many bad things they've heard about/from/of each state. Perfectly human.

I'm also kind of suspicious of any position that claims to represent "all" of any nationality. "All 23 million of us Australians" probably don't actually agree.

Plus, you ain't gonna get too many Internet points from people in Somalia.

I'd think it'd be more or less possible to get all inhabitants of, say, Tuvalu, to agree on something. For any bigger nation, duh.

Google Translate app says the two signs say "You think that the world goes evil? Say-you that that it could be worse."

I don't recognize the politicians in the third position on either panel, though.

That's the Tricolour behind them, so those are French leaders. That makes me think it's supposed to be Francois Hollande (the current president of France) and Marine Le Pen (the blonde woman and president of FN or National Front). FN are basically ultra hard social conservatives.

"You think the world's in a bad place right now?"
"It could be so much worse"

With, indeed, Hollande on one side, and Le Pen in the other; and obviously, Obama and Trump on the other side.

"You think the world's fucked right now? You ain't seen nothing yet"

It's amusing that Poutine is in both of those.
The next Russian Presidental election isn't until 2018 and he can still do another term before he has to install someone else for a term before he can take over again. He's a de-facto dictator but I wouldn't be surprised if the 2018 election ends in another bloody revolution... he's barely hanging onto control at this point and his machismo won't hold out forever.
