Games on SALE!

Will that Steam summer sale effect ALL games or just some? Because I WANT Danganronpa...but not enough to spend 30 bucks if it can be cheaper. If it comes to it full price, because I need my visual novel murder mystery fix!

Lesse.. it came out in Jan 2015? It'll probably be on sale. Though it's not guaranteed... Rust never fucking goes on sale, for some reason.

I'm 93.6% sure that it's down to the individual publisher/developer of each game to decide whether they want to discount their games, and by how much. Rockstar have been known to pull some unsavory shenanigans with their sales of GTA V.

Prison Architect is now -66% on GOG. I never bought it because it was early access, how is it now? Somewhat stable and playable? Is there even a campaign around these days?

Full disclosure, I am currently very addicted to Prison Architect, so my opinion will be somewhat biased.

It's a good game. If you like games where you build stuff, like Dwarf Fortress or Minecraft or Sim City, then this will be right up your alley. It's quite stable (I have never suffered a single crash), and the devs release regular updates that fix bugs and add new features. For example, I've complained about temperature bugs here before, where indoor temperatures would be either zero degrees or thousands of degrees. However, since the most recent update, this bug has yet to show up again, so I'm inclined to think it's fixed.

Granted, with each new update comes a handful of new bugs or quirks in the game. For example, a recent update added a hot water system. The problem was, the hot water pipes had a ludicrously short range, which meant that you had to install boilers every few steps. The devs took player feedback into account and later increased the range of hot water pipes, which meant a more reasonable number of boilers in your prison.

There is a rudimentary single-player campaign, but it only consists of five levels and basically serves as the tutorial. The meat of the game is building prisons and making them as efficient as possible.

All in all, I'm very happy with the game I bought.

The NEOGEO bundle is pretty tempting. They had this one game called Ninja Combat that was at the machine at my local 7-11. Loved that game. You'd unlock new ninjas, seemingly at random, and could just kind of switch off to a new character when you died, I think.

From the little I saw, the things I want to go on sale didn't go on sale, so I am having a hard time caring about it so far.

Finally got it to load... I see they're sticking to the whole "no more flash sales/daily deals" thing but they're still keeping the stupid trading card games.

I take it back, some of the sales were just not actually loading on their store page until just now.

Some of the older/indie games on my WL are on a good sale, so I'll snag those today. Going to hold off outside of those, though, as I'm hoping to see a couple of the higher-priced games get a sale later on.

I have to wonder what the benefit is for Steam with those trading cards. I guess people sell them and Steam gets a tiny percentage of each of those sales. Is that enough to warrant it, though?

Things on sale that were on my wishlist:
War for the Overworld: -57%, 12.89
BeamNG.Drive: -25%, $18.74
Space Beast Terror Fright: -33% $10.04
Witcher 3: -50% $24.99 (still not under my threshold, maybe winter)
Just Cause 3: -50%, $29.99 (ditto)
Grandia 2 Anniversary edition: -50%, $9.99

Not on sale:
Factorio [DOUBLEPOST=1466702308,1466702215][/DOUBLEPOST]

I honestly have no idea. It seems to me the kind of marketing gimmick that an unknown/unpopular service would need to drive enthusiasm/coax in the curious, but not the steam frickin sale.

Factorio people said they weren't planning to put it on sale ever. Maybe that will change when it isn't early access, but they have gone on record saying it.

And once again, the Assassin Creed games go on sale, but 1 & 2 remain at 50% off when at this point, they should be 75% off. Fuck off, Ubisoft. They're 10-year-old games. They're not worth $10 now.

Normally I'd scoff at such a claim, but the Rust people stuck to their guns about that, too. Grumble grumble. I've been paying full price for far too many games, lately.

Picking up these today:

Adventures of Pip
FF Type-0
Bard's Tale

I'm really tempted to snag Dynasty Warriors because it's like 60% off, but I'd rather wait and see if the Dragon Quest one goes on sale first.

Granted, Steam's running like garbage right now so I might have to wait until later.

Probably gonna get Undertale, Tales of Zestria, and MAYBE Fallout 4 (still on the fence about it, due to the lack of RP in my G). Though I'm reminded I should probably play War for the Underworld more again, because I stopped playing it due to bugs which I'm sure they fixed now.

I pirated the shit out of AC games, and am glad I did. GLAD I tell ya. Not because I liked the games, but because fuck Ubisoft.[DOUBLEPOST=1466702589,1466702532][/DOUBLEPOST]

If we ever stop playing Overwatch for even a moment.

Oh wait, I keep forgetting you don't have normal schedule constraints >_<

I've had a lot of fun with Zestiria, at about 40 hours and just now getting close to the end of the game. Totally worth it if you're a Tales fan. Symphonia is on sale, too, but I don't know if they've fixed it because it hit Steam as a garbage port.

I own Symphonia on both GameCube (which I can still use on my Wii) and for PS3, I don't feel the need to get the crappy PC port. :)

I'm having trouble reaching the store pages for anything I want to buy, I'm gonna give it some time to stabilize, and maybe make some purchases tonight.

I have a daughter that's been begging for Undertale forever. Assuming I can log in tonight, how much is it right now?
