Games on SALE!

The Binding of Isaac in unreasonably difficult? I wouldn't even call it mildly difficult. Then again, I AM currently binging on Dark Souls and FTL, so that may be coloring my opinion...

As for ugly... I actually like the art a lot.

It's difficulty is completely random.

Sometimes you're a doomsday weapon, sometimes you can barely defend yourself.

I was fine with Super Meat Boy until that stupid race through the salt factory or whatever. And then I heard the final boss is completely idiotic.

Binding of Isaac is only stupidly hard BECAUSE of the randomness. Which, to be honest, I kinda like. Every game is different because you never know what you'll get. Different power ups, different enemies, different bosses, etc. There are ways to get further in the game if you know how or when to use items (bombs, keys, etc).

I will say, though, that only once did I ever even reach the last level and boss. It was when I was, as Frank put it, a doomsday weapon. And even though I flew through the levels as a result, the final boss still slapped me down like a little bitch.

Borderlands 2 is on sale again for half off (30 bones). The DLC continues to not be on sale. The day they put the 60 some odd dollars of DLC on sale is the day I actually buy it.

I hear tell that's in the works. I anticipate buying at the summer sale.

I'm kind of sad about Torchlight 2. I bought it, it was fun, I played through it once, and now I'm done. But I think it was missing some of the fun silliness that TL1 had, and I missed the ability to retire a character, pass their gear on to a new character (with an upgrade based on the item's generation), and the map system just wasn't as fun, in my opinion, as the endless dungeon system from the first game. I'm still not sad that I bought it, but I don't really think it lived up to its promise.

True enough. But TLII delivered....pretty much what I expected. I played through it once; if asked i'd happily play through it again with a different character. Not incredibly memorable, but a good fun romp. DIII disappointed much more, because expectations were fiftyfold higher, and, well, in its original incarnation, it really wasn't better than TLII. Better world, maybe better graphics, less fun and always-online.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I still prefer TLII over D3, hands down. I just missed some of the silliness from the original.

Sine Mora is on sale today for like 3 bucks. It's a challenging side-scrolling shooter by Grasshopper with music by Akira Yamaoka. It's gorgeous and creative as hell. You can't afford to not buy it for 3 dollars.

Are the games worth it? I know nothing of any of them.
I've only played NightSky myself. It's a very good 2D puzzle game. I'd definitely say it's worth chipping in a couple bucks, if you like level based puzzle games. You control a marble/orb-thing as you roll through various levels. Sometimes you'll be able to use different powers like fast movement, slow movement with better grip; sometimes you'll be forced to have one of those always on; other times you'll control objects in the level instead of the marble; etc. It mixes things up pretty well, and while the puzzles can be pretty demanding, they rarely feel unfair. It's a beautiful game, too, especially the HD version.

As for the rest, Dungeon Defenders is the only one I've heard much buzz about, and that was a lot. It's supposed to be a really good multi-player, action tower-defense game. I have heard it takes multiple players to make it really shine, though. I'm also not sure what the Android version is like compared to the PC (though it does appear that this is the only way to currently buy the Android version.)

I've played Dungeon Defenders and it's okay. It's not the most balanced of games, but coop is kinda fun.

Beat Hazard is a lot of fun if you like top down shooters and is only made better the better your music collection is.

Dungeon Defenders is kinda like... Fisher Price "My first" Orcs Must Die. The pacing of the game is different (less desperate/panicky) and it has more character classes, but at no point do I really feel it is challenging or that I'm in danger of losing. Also there's RPG elements in leveling up/finding gear.

Super Hexagon is the type of game that you either think is cool and frantically challenging, or the type that makes you want to fling your device a long distance

Jesus, that looks like some kind of test to be a pilot for Battling Seizure Robots.

Just so people know, if you pre-order Bioshock:Infinite on Steam, you get both the original Bioshock and the new Xcom for free.

Saints Row 3 is $13 on STEAM. If you don't have it, get it. It's amazing fun.
I hear it's missing a ton of the character customization from 2, which was one of my favourite parts: buying clothes, changing my hair to be ridiculous, using the plethora of taunts, etc. Is this accurate?[DOUBLEPOST=1363789830][/DOUBLEPOST]

Ooooooh how long do I have to pre-order? I don't get paid until Monday! SO MANY GAMES. I want to get back into gaming!

It's less but it's still way more customization than ALOT of games. Besides, it's wonderfully over-the-top, even more so than pt2. It's really worth playing through.

I don't know if same day still counts as pre-order. the release date is the 25th.[DOUBLEPOST=1363790909][/DOUBLEPOST]
If I buy an ATI card with the free bio shock infinite offer, it results in a steam code for bio shock infinite.

If I enter that code before the game comes out, does it count as a preorder, or is it just going to give me only bio shock infinite?

I assume it doesn't count as a preorder, but if anyone knows differently, I'd like to know.
I wouldn't think so, seeing as you redeem codes differently than going through the purchasing checkout process.

No, it doesn't. It's the same as if you bought it at a pre-order discount from Green Man Gaming or the like. It just activates on Steam.

You have to actually purchase it from Steam to get those pre-order thingys.

Normally, I'm completely against pre-ordering anything....but, it's Bioshock proper and I don't own X-Com.

Literally the only reason I pre-ordered was the possibility of getting X-com for free. I figured it worked out to paying half price for both, seeing as Xcom is still pretty much original retail price.

I think you would be able to pre-order up until release time, usually 9pm pacific for me, and still get the bonuses.
