They are apparently still doing a sequel. The kickstarter failed because of "conversion rates" and "an unclear sales pitch", but they went to Steam Greenlight so who knows...
Pre-ordering has existed for just about everything ever, not just video games.

I don't care about everything ever, I care about the deleterious effect preordering has on video games. If you want to preorder your porch furniture or automobile or toothpaste, you go right ahead.
Pre-order bonuses for toothpaste are getting insane. If I pre-order from walgreens, I get the bonus mint stripe, but I can only get whitening as a costco special.

Oh man, I raced to steam to buy it. But then I saw I already own it. Doh! Heh. It gets hard to remember what I've bought and what I pirated. Though it's started getting to be waaaay more of the former than the latter. I think the only one left to go is Skyrim, come to think of it.
I know the feeling Gas. I used to pirate tons of games back in the day, but ever since Steam started doing the big sales, just the IDEA that a game will cost what it's actually worth someday is enough to keep me from downloading.
