Seriously though the idea of a national accreditation board isn't that crazy, its already more or less done professionally all over the place. Lawyers, doctors, engineers, all of them have nationally regulated boards that oversee their licenses. And I would love to see someone argue that any of those three professions would be better off without those regulatory bodies.
Yes, when influenced by people actively trying to undermine said system to turn ALL education into a for profit enterprise once again, it pumps out terrible decisions.
We saw, as a society, saw how that turned out in the Gilded Age. Would you like to go back to having a vast, uneducated underclass like back then? I sure as hell wouldn't.

This is Reyhaneh Jabbari. In Iran in 2007, a man attempted to drug and rape her, and she stabbed him with a pocket knife in self-defense. She was hung on Saturday after being charged with pre-meditated murder. If she had been raped and lived, she would have been stoned to death for adultery.

Man. That just reads like both sides are jerking around a bunch of teenagers to win political points on a superficial problem. Their tap water is contaminated with arsenic and uranium, but let's ask the students how they feel about the nickname "Redskins," and we'll use their answers to bolster our position by either saying, "See?! It's fine," or "They're pawns and sellouts!" They're fucking teenagers who like fucking football, and cannot drink their own water. They are neither the final word in the argument about the Washington Redskins name, nor are they sellouts for going to enjoy a damn game.Both sides of this come out as people who need to be smacked upside the head.
