Really? I mean, I believe there is a big difference between getting all the forms properly counter-signed so you can bring a bar of chocolate to the compound, and spraying potentially harmful chemicals in inmates' faces.Sadly, yes.
There is a certain difficulty in obtaining accurate, impartial data, given the circumstances. In order to paint a picture with enough detail to draw any sort of meaningful conclusion, it may be necessary to consider data outside what would normally be preferred as a "tidy" standard deviation.Do we actually know that that is happening beyond the realm of error, aside from testimonies of people who may well have an agenda?
More like middle, maybe even closer to the end.My stepmom has shared 6 right-wing videos today, several from PragerU. I feel like I'm seeing the start of the brainwashing.
My mom has been doing that since March. She was broken of looking at Facebook until she couldn't get her back fixed for over a month. :/My stepmom has shared 6 right-wing videos today, several from PragerU. I feel like I'm seeing the start of the brainwashing.
I think you may be putting words into my mouth there a bit, Patrick. There is a certain difficulty in obtaining accurate, impartial data, given the circumstances. In order to paint a picture with enough detail to draw any sort of meaningful conclusion, it may be necessary to consider data outside what would normally be preferred as a "tidy" standard deviation.
In other words (since I also have no degree in Statistics), if you are saying you require a quantity of publicly available and unimpeachable data that would place it beyond a reasonable doubt before you will assign any sort of credence to the allegations, then you have no idea what "reasonable suspicion" means.

it does. It sounded like you were dismissing the claims as baseless in a sort of "he-said/she-said" way, where the detainees were complaining but the jailers were saying there was nothing, and you were like, "Well, that's good enough for me!" It appeared that you were ignoring the fact that the complaints were not stopping, which could indicate that maaaaaybe the jailers weren't being entirely honest, and at a minimum should trigger some sort of external (, independent) investigation.I hope this serves to clarify my position on the matter.
I just finished listening to part of the hearing on the background, and the headline/contents are accurate. The investigation turned up a lot of scummy shit on these guys.Excerpts said:GBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Richard Dial testified that Bryan told police Travis McMichael said "f***ing n***er" after three blasts from his shotgun left Arbery dead in the street in the Satilla Shores neighborhood in February.
(..) [T]here were "numerous times" on social media and via messaging services that McMichael used the same slur, once messaging someone that he loved his job because there "weren't any N-words anywhere."
(..) As Travis and Gregory McMichael attempted to head him off, Arbery turned and ran past the truck of Bryan, who recorded the killing, and Bryan struck Arbery with the side of his truck, Dial said.
(..)
When police arrived after the shooting, Dial said, Gregory McMichael said in remarks caught on police body camera footage that he didn't know for certain if Arbery had stolen anything. "He had a gut feeling that Mr. Arbery may have been responsible for thefts that were in the neighborhood previously. He actually says gut. His instinct told him that," the GBI agent said.
Let me stop you right there. You must be new here. What precisely is the proper method in the US I do not know, but I would guess that, if enough indication is detected, then an inquiry could be called for
I'm hard-pressed to say which is the less surprising, Rand Paul or Kentucky.

My only surprise is that it took this long.
Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Jeff Merkley propose creating a national database of cops with a record of misconductOkay, we're now only one or two steps removed from hearing people start using words like "cleansing" and "purity," and no matter WHAT some people may say, we need to start adding these people to some kind of "Caution: Advocates dangerous and/or regressive behavior" list so we can remember them when they deny/delete it later.
They need to ban police unions. It won’t matter what list they’re on, the unions will still protect them.Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Jeff Merkley propose creating a national database of cops with a record of misconduct
It's a start, but they should also add in all the other public servant positions. Mayors, Governors, Senators, keep it going...
