Gas Bandit's Political Thread V: The Vampire Likes Bats

Hell, this is assuming he even counts the ballots at all. He seems to be pushing the idea that whoever wins election night will be the winner and all other ballots to be discarded. We really are in the end game here if we don't get him out.
I'm not kidding, I said just after the debate "We're in the endgame now"

I don't usually watch debates from other states but when I heard that Lindsey Graham was debating his opponent Jamie Harrison, and considering the race is neck and neck, I had to watch at least a little of it.

That was a bloodbath. Someone needs to put Lindsey on suicide watch.

And this is following new polls that came up just before the debate that put Jamie ahead of Lindsey by 2 points.

Could it actually happen? Could Lindsey lose? Come on, don't disappoint me SC.

The stupidity continues...

It is NOT a sign of leadership that Trump ignored medical advice, suffered an illness that might have caused him brain damage, is on medications that could make him delusional, and is doing his best to spread the disease to as many people as he can. That's the exact opposite of good leadership.

Noticing a bit of a trend during a few debates I peeked at for Senate and House seats.

Democrat "We need to do better for this country, it's important to bring us together for the better, and I don't feel my opponent has those values."

Republican "WELL LOOK "Insert name with insulting title like Counterfeit Kelly", THE WORLD KNOWS YOU ARE A DEEP STATE BERNIE BRO WANTING TO DESTROY THE SECOND AMMENDMENT AND EAT ABORTED BABIES!

Is this really where we are now?

Oh, that middle ground. SO unwilling/scared of having to vote to give up their traditional values... like slavery, misogyny, bigotry, nepotism, etc.

Wait... you think the middle between Trump and, say, Bernie Sanders is people who want “slavery, misogyny, bigotry, nepotism, etc.”?

I think what he's saying is that by this time if you are in the middle you are a fence-sitter and want the status quo, which is as he said above. I disagree with his assessment, but I think that's what he means.

Well, that’s bullshit. Hating Trump but not wanting something as extreme as a socialist revolution that completely upends the entire country doesn’t mean wanting racism and misogyny.

If I have termites in my house, I don’t believe my only two options are “live with it” or “burn everything down immediately.”

EDIT: To be clear, I’m exaggerating for effect. I don’t think Bernie Sanders is that extreme or wants to “upend the entire country.”

Dave's closer. By "middle" I don't mean "Centrists," I mean those who claim they have not yet picked either side. Because I don't see any possible explanation at this point for being "Undecided" that isn't actually "I want to vote for Trump but am ashamed to admit it out loud."

Okay, maybe I was just misunderstanding your meaning, then. I apologize.

I actually agree about anyone who is somehow undecided.

I don't, either. I think a lot of what he espouses would actually be good for us as a nation. But too many voters are basing their entire decision on just the next four years rather than the continued survival of our society (and to some extent our entire species!) like they should be, and the 1% is lobbying hard to slow it down as much as possible because they do not wish their tender, delicate skin to suffer even the momentary pain of ripping off that Band-Aid.

--Patrick

Oh, I'm talking about people who wont stand up for their convictions and roll over for the racist bigots in the interest of "getting along". And when you confront the racists, you get hit with "both sides are intolerant ".

So as far as Texas goes, got some good news and bad news.

The bad news, the Texas Supreme Court is blocking Harris County from sending out mailed absentee ballots to all voters.

The good news, they upheld Gov. Abbots early voting extension, which gives us all an extra six days of early voting. The state GOP absolutely hated the extension and tried to get him or the TSC to overturn it back to the original period, but the TSC believe it's too late to reverse course.

I wouldn't call it a win, but it could have been way worst.

I needed to change my address before the election. TIL WV offers online voter registration. So I did. :D
Make sure to read any fine print. My county in Texas also allows updating your registration address online... but then you have to fill out the paper confirmation form they send you, and if they don't get that back in the mail before the election, your status is "suspense" and you have to go to the one early voting location that allows filling out an address confirmation form. The online form warns of none of this. The page for checking voter registration status doesn't tell you what "suspense" means, and proceeds to list locations you may not be able to vote at. Etc.

The voting processes in this country are so stupid.

I ain't sure what I was expecting with the debate.

Scroll Twitter, see left aligning person. "Haha look at Kamala bitch slap that old liar. She killing it."

Scroll More, see right aligning person. "Wow Pence is taking Kamala to the mat and I am loving it, she is floundering like a fish."

I think I am going to log off for awhile, this debate only proves to me that both sides are locked in and it's not going to change a damn thing. They only are going to see what they want to see and call a "win" for who they want to "win".
