So that happened. We decided to try and attack Gas tonight. Bad idea. We got waxed. It didn’t help that two of us froze and had to log and one of us slowed way down. But at least we only lost one ship.

Next time, Gadget!

Oh, and I streamed it so we could see both sides of the conflict. I picked up 3 viewers and even got a new sub! Wonders will never cease.

I streamed it too... soon as I'm done repairing the dents, I'll post a highlight :p I crashed to desktop, too... and turns out the Sky Bitch didn't even have her turrets on at all in that fight.

You guys lost 3 SVs and a CV, and one more CV and SV were complete and utter write-offs. Hell, you basically had to TOW the malphus away from my base by suicide-rushing in a new core, generator, fuel tank, and thruster!

Ok, so here's my highlight.... Unfortunately I was listening to DI.FM and it triggered a copyright hit 2 minutes into the video, so the sound goes silent... and shortly after that, the framerate turns into a literal slideshow for a couple minutes. >_< But it does have a cool scene of you guys all warping in on the attack at the start.

If it hangs at the 2 minute mark, just click 10 or so seconds later in the position slider, and it should start playing again.

Oh, and because @PatrThom was interested, here's the server performance logs... red arrow points at tonight's fight

And today's useage data for Bonanza Orbit. I don't think I need to point out the fight on this one.

Here's Dave's recording. Relevant part starts at 14:00 (I'd make a clip but those can only be 60 seconds long, you have to be the channel owner to make a highlight)

"If you hadn't a warned him, he wouldn't have got the Legion out!"

Heh, Dave, I'm insulted you think that. The Legion's been parked there for over a week, turrets on, just WAITING for your inevitable betrayal.

Also, Dave, the Noobshelter has a merchant inside that could have sold you some basic weapons and ammo. Just FYI for the next time I send you back there without a ship ;)

It's July, and all the votes at empyrion-servers.com have been reset. We've dropped back to number 9! Vote, people, voooote!

If the votes reset, that means that Tin's rewards thing would work well. If you voted X times you'd get better and better loot, and voting 28+ days (basically every day in the month) would get GREAT stuff. I really like that idea. But you'd have to make teleporters and stuff more expensive.

Or make the stretch rewards non-monetary in nature, which Tin suggested.

Here's a slightly more palatable version of my video, edited to add music, accelerate the fight, and skip downtime during my CTD.

TIL that if you walk up and place your crosshairs on any device in your base/ship/whatever before you press "P," once the control panel opens up it will have that specific device highlighted in the list, allowing you to change the name/settings/whatever for that specific device. MUUUCH easier than having to show on HUD and guess which one you're adjusting.

I haven't finished that part yet, just so everyone's clear.
Plus my mod would keep track of total rewards internally, separate from the website, so it wouldn't resent monthly (unless Gas suggested we add that feature)

This is what happened to me with my base. My ship was lying on its side, embedded in the floor with just its two left “feet” and part of the RADAR dish sticking out. I chopped a hole in my floor so I could access the cockpit, hopped in, powered it up, and as soon as I fired the thrusters to break it loose (because apparently occupying the same space as my base counts as “docked”), my ship did the same palsied shimmyshakeboogaloo until it finally disengaged itself from my floor.

Also I fell out of the bottom of the world when I originally got out of the cockpit. Didn’t die, though, just got suddenly teleported to a nearby ground location. I don’t have any clips of this stuff, though, since I don’t stream. You just had to be there.

I've discovered a few of the playfields (Arengu, Udus) I've added were erroneously set to PvE. Whoops. I fixed the yamls, but the changes won't take effect until next reboot. To be clear, any playfield OTHER than Akua, Akua Orbit, Ningues, Ningues Orbit, Tallodar, Trading Outpost, and Tallodar Orbit are all supposed to be PvP enabled.

Here's tonight's entire 50 minute fight, from my perspective.

Here's Gared finding his cockpit suddenly full of missile.

Aaand Dave.

Couldn't seal the deal with Aislynn, though... got almost all her turrets, but there was just too much armor on the Basilisk's bridge for me to penetrate. When she ran out of guns, she took to ramming me, and somehow during that process, managed to get her small fighter/shuttle, the Umbral Sliver, lodged inside my armor. That invoked the game's "You cannot navigate while an undocked ship is inside your ship" rule, and disabled me while I had to deal with that. In the meantime, they escaped back to their base, and I decided an hour long battle was enough for one night and didn't pursue.

The Weenie Cheese sandwich had lost 23 of its 34 turrets, and of its mounted weapons (meaning I had to aim and fire them myself), all 4 of the homing missile launchers were destroyed as well as 2 of the 4 pulse lasers - although I didn't anticipate how much I'd be firing the pulse lasers, and they ran out of ammunition within 10 minutes of me beginning to use them. Won't make that mistake again! No thrusters or other critical systems suffered any damage, being behind stupidly redundant layers of gapped combat steel armor. Missing block repairs took 1 hour 47 minutes, and damaged block HP refill took a similar amount of time, costing 12,000 and change iron ingots.

I'd say RDR held up pretty well, actually... their only fully-disabled/destroyed casualties were fighters, and all their CVs managed to withdraw from combat when they became too damaged to fight or ran out of ammo.

- Fixed: Zirax Shotgun Trooper shooting through walls
- Fixed: Drones falling through the world
- Fixed: Broken Status Effect Notification Messages
- Fixed: Change of Playfield can cause disconnects in some use cases
- Fixed: Several internal exceptions reported on support email

Changes:
- Disallow to upload "Default Creative" Scenario to workshop
- Added cure for Mutilation to Trauma Kit

The funniest part about that fight is that I got there after the fight had started and got in one of Gared/Aislynn's ships...and it had almost no ammo. I ran out in the first few minutes and couldn't do much after that.

Yeah, I spent all of my resources repairing ships and didn't have any to make ammo with. I'm starting to think maybe it might still be faster and more resource friendly to scrap heavily damaged ships and move on rather than using up all of my ingots rebuilding a ship that already got shot to hell once. SVs aren't bad - as long as it's not the Mammoth or MEGAS - because they rarely take more than 4 hours to build in the first place, so their repair needs are lower than, say, a 36 hour CV. Plus, I don't generally have to spend 30 minutes trying to either find just the right spot to put my CV in that it won't negatively impact the repair pad OR adding additional blocks to the bottom so I can park it on them. And this 1k away rule for the repair pads to shut down is really frickin' annoying. We'll have to be much more strict going forward on the acceptable actions once a truce has been called for the evening.

Until something is done to address the repair issues, I suggest we agree to limit our skirmishes to prearranged fighter duels, away from bases :p

Sounds good. And the drones are still falling through the world.
This bug has been in the game since at least alpha 2 (when I first started playing, years ago). It'll take more than a patch note to make me believe it has been fixed. I've seen too many examples of Eleon being completely incapable of calculating interpolated collision between solid objects (*Cough*PhasingMissiles*Cough*).

I more want to know how many people think that’s an actual ‘shopped picture of you, and not just some random picture I found off the ‘net.

Because it is.
