I was told that it wasn't the Halforum channel. So why is it here? And why would we encourage people to go to it? Last night it was someone talking about killing themself, and today it's annoyance over someone talking.

Sounds gouda. I don't know enough about IRC to quite 'get it', but I know where I don't want to be.

Not finding anyone in #halforum. Must be doing something wrong.

IRC has its ups and downs. It's usually a pretty cool place.

And I haven't even tried the #halforums place.

as with everywhere there are cliques, and they suck, but that's just how it works.

So, I finally got a new phone (motorola Droid) and I'm trying to figure out a way to run IRC on it.

I'm using the android app "AndroidIRC" and it connects to other irc servers just fine. But it can't seem to connect to irc.slashnet.org:6667, no matter what I do.

Does slashnet reject certain clients, like mobile devices? What could be causing this?

still no good. Here are the fields I have to work with, maybe there's something missing in here somewhere.

server:
port:
pass: (I have this blank)
ssl: (unchecked)
auto: (unchecked)
nick: ravenpoe
user:
name: clients I've used before have only asked for a nick, so I just used ravenpoe in this and the previous field

channels: #pvponline
and a field for scripts to run when connection, which I only have set currently to msg nickserv to verify my nick, though I've also tried it with this blank.

I don't think it's a port problem, since I've used port 6667 to connect to other irc servers, but this one just won't seem to work.

It's running Android 2.0, google's mobile operating system. I tried two apps, both a free IRC client and the official android pay IRC client. Both could connect to -other- IRC servers, just not slashnet.

I'll try a few other free ones, see if I get lucky.

Edit: Actually, the only other server I tried was freenode, which those threads state as being the only one working. Hopefully this gets solved soon.
