Movie you liked but apparently no one else did?

Ravenous for me. The soundtrack is glorious and the story is delightfully weird. Plus, it has one of the worst fucking trailers of all time.

They used White Zombie's Boogieman as the background music in it.

Constantine. I never read the comics, so I thought the movie was decent. I loved Tilda Swinton as Gabriel. I thought Keanu Reeves was good. I liked that Constantine and Angela didn't kiss despite a few scenes where I know in any other movie they'd have torn off each other's clothes.

I won't defend it. It's not critically acclaimed/award winning. The acting wasn't deserving of more recognition. It didn't have a deep meaning. I just liked it.
I'm going to go hide now before I'm flogged.
I'll second this, even after reading the comics and acknowledging that Matt Ryan was the perfect person to play Constantine.

Ha ha ha, oh god, I remember that trailer.

I'm assuming this was a...comedy?

I liked this movie, too. It followed one of the comic plots reasonably well. Keanu wasn't the greatest casting choice, and his Constantine was waaay too serious, but it was still a good watch.

Kevin Costner in The Postman
I remember thinking the movie was okay, but holy crap does it pale in comparison to the book. I'm not usually one to jump to "the book was better", but seriously, the movie leaves the most important thematic points of the book by the wayside.

I liked it too, having no familiarity with the character at the time. It's a terrible HellBlazer adaptation, but standing by itself, it's a decent enough movie.

And <3 Tilda Swinton.

Peter Stormare's Lucifer in that movie was 10/10 also. First thing I remember seeing him in, and he's always been the best super-creep in everything since.

He's the psychiatrist in Until Dawn, and all I could keep thinking about through the whole game is "Don't trust that guy, he's Lucifer!"

Yeah he's shown up in a lot of stuff I've watched and every time it's the same "THIS GUY'S THE DEVIL DON'T LISTEN TO HIM!"

Speaking of Peter Stormare, I quite liked Armageddon.

Actually, y'know what, I like Michael Bay movies in general. He's a one-trick pony, but he does that trick quite well.

Wow, I completely forgot about that. He was excellent.

Best part of the game. My wife and I ate up every one of his scenes.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - reviews aren't that great (36% on Rotten Tomatoes), but I like it. Not sure I'd wanted to pay movie theater prices to see it, but as a free rental from my local library. Gemma Aterton, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, and Alfred Molina all star in it...

I also like Waterworld and The Postman.

Josie and the Pussycats.... people haaated it.

I just love how the movie poked fun at the whole logistics, materialism and product placement conspiracy in the middle of this film about a band/group who hit it big. The songs were catchy as fuck and honestly I like anything that comes from the Archie universe.

Also, ummm....it was very nice to look at... visually... and by visually mean by how incredibly hot Tara Reid was in her non-tarnished prime and I reeeeally had a thing for Rachel Leigh Cook growing up. Also her hair in this was so hot...

Huh, weird. I honestly don't hear much hate for Josie & the Pussycats. And that's including years years of working in a video store.

I've discussed several before, like the director's cut of Daredevil (however, the Netflix series blows it completely out of the water in every way imaginable). I wouldn't call them great by any stretch and I wouldn't defend them hard, but I enjoyed the Fantastic Four movies (with Michael Chiklis as The Thing). And of the Superman films, Superman Returns is probably the one I have the least problems with, overall. Again, wouldn't defend it hard, I still have several problems with it, and I agree with most criticisms.

Cloud Atlas is one I know a lot of people hated. I found audiences were split almost exactly 50/50. If you liked it, you loved it. If you didn't like it, you hated it. Very little grey area there. Me? I loved it and I happily own a BluRay copy.

Loved it, own it on Blu-Ray, and talked several friends into watching it.

I just got done watching Infini. I was surprised to find the hate for it (I always look up reviews after seeing a movie - I know, it's weird). Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 36% with audience giving it 32%. I liked it. I thought the ending was a bit shoe-horned and could have been a bit more fleshed out, but the movie itself was enjoyable.

And I loved Cloud Atlas.

I haven't seen it but from what I can tell, you either think Cloud Atlas was one of the best movies of the last few years or hate it with every fiber of your being.

Yep. No grey area at all. You either love it or you hate it. I'm sure there are other movies just as divisive, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Deep Rising.

It's a giant hack production, but I don't care.

I found the character interactions funny.

I found the atmosphere and pacing perfect.

I loved the monster concept.

I love that you can play "hey, I know that guy!" bingo with it (and that Djimon fucking Honsou plays a mook because no one had seen Amistad yet when they were making it).

I thought the fact that they desperately wanted Harrison Ford but couldn't get him to say yes and so got Treat Williams instead but told him to act Harrison-Ford-y was hysterical.

I will love this movie until the end of time.

Star Wars Episodes 2 & 3.

*ducks*

Ok, let me explain.

Episode 2 - There's a lot wrong with it, but the arena fight on Geonosis and the subsequent battle were good. The overall plot wasn't terrible, either. It certainly could have used less politics, but I still enjoy it.

Episode 3 - I will defend a bit more because I honestly like this movie a lot. The plot works, the action is good, the awaited duel between Obi-Wan & Anakin could have been better (pulling the shot back a bit would be step one), and the scene of Vader's transformation and first breath was damn near flawless. Until the whole scene is ruined with ridiculous cheese.

The only good thing about episode 1 was the Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan vs Maul fight.

...which reminds me of another movie I've seen that fits this thread: Dead Heat (1988). Oh, the science is completely wrong and inconsistent on soooo many counts, but I still liked it enough to see it in the theater.
And also there's that movie I most recently mentioned in the trailer thread, Overdrawn at the Memory Bank. I thought it was fascinating, and I'd love for someone to do an even better treatment of it someday.

They did, it was called The Matrix ;)

For me it's Kingdom of Heaven. It seems like every person who saw it felt pretty negative about it but I thought it was really good. I bought the Blue-Ray and watched the "no cut version" where apparently it ran too long for theaters but the missing 35 minutes added a lot of meat to the story... and I can see how it affected people's opinions.... but I love the movie.

It's so well written.
A lot of people consider the no cut version to be really good.[DOUBLEPOST=1457792637,1457792248][/DOUBLEPOST]As for me:

Grown Ups 1 and 2
Corky Romano
Son in Law, Encino Man, Biodome, and In the Army Now (I fucking love Paulie Shore movies)

Horror/Dark Comedy.

I liked Kingdom of Heaven, but I didn't care for Orlando Bloom's character who grew up a blacksmith knowing advanced siege engineering and teaching everyone how good he is at siegecraft. It seemed really mighty whitey.

Jeremy Irons was fucking awesome in it.
