Yeah, you need to give that some time, that's all. I've seen friends break-up that ended up being close friends afterwards, but not until a good amount of time had passed.

TIME MOTHERFUCKER!

And Dave, I hope that the smallest amount of time passes before your wife is gainfully employed.

I fucking hate running. I hate it. It's so goddamn boring outside or in. No one likes running. If a runner comes up to you and claims they love it, they're lying. Look them right in their dead eyes and call them a liar. Running serves one purpose, and one purpose only: to run away from shit that's trying to eat you. It's not fun, it's a last resort survival tactic.
I couldn't agree more, and I run 4-5 miles 3 times a week. Least favorite part of a workout.
I run a solid mile every time I work out about 4 time a week (5 laps around the local high school track) at like 80%. I hate it so much. The only thing that drives me is the anger of knowing that I'm running.

Agreed. I used to run a lot, but then I realized it's just boring. Plus, I feel like a sheep, because it seems like everyone and their brother runs (at least here). How are we such a fat country when everyone I see runs?

Soccer is a good alternative. You still do the long distance running, but you have an objective. The problem there is that there are too many soccer douches who are better than you and they douchily like to make it clear.

This right here is why I stick with a stationary bike and a PSP. Lots of cardio, no boredom whatsoever.

I do my running on a treadmill staring at a TV. I still hate it. The only thing I hate more than running on a treadmill is a God damn shitfuck who makes me run to chase him down. Those guys are always 100 percent lucky I don't fucking shoot them.

Yes, this happened almost exactly a year ago. She started working there in February. She got sent home Monday with strep throat and was told that she was contagious for 24 hours. So she didn't go in yesterday as the 24 hours would have been about 1/2 day. When she went in today they told her she'd missed too much time. No warning, no "if you miss another day" or anything. EVERY absence was approved.

Time to hit the street again.
You must live in one of those shitty states like Indiana. Next time she gets strep, she should come visit for the day and cough in everyone's coffee. "That's team spirit! You're hired!"

I'm sorry this happened again.

I don't exactly love running, but I mostly enjoy it. I just let my mind wander and let my legs do their thing. I run early in the morning when most other people aren't around except for the other occasional runner; I find it to be peaceful and relaxing.

If you imagine the bedazzled shark yelling liar in a low class jerry springer way, it is kind of amusing.

Word. And the bastards ALWAYS know the terrain better than you.

Dave, if I can shake some loose, I'll see what I can do.

I don't like running unless I have music. I flat out will not run if my mp3 player isn't charged. I'll find some other way to work out. But with music I *do* love it.

Dave, I'm so sorry to hear that. Jeez... they're really wrong for that.

I love running, more now because chaz hates it. His hatred pleases me.

Of my three bosses the one who regularly runs and does triathlons is by far the most unhappy and difficult to deal with. I wonder if there is a correlation.

you don't share his love of running, and he is disappointed in you?

It's just a theory.

That's the bad thing about having mutual friends. It's great when everyone is together and happy, but when ANYONE breaks up it gets weird.
I call it "sharing the kids in the divorce." Some friends choose sides while others will only hang out with you if the ex isn't around.

And it sucks about the missus getting fired. I hope she gets a new job soon.

Nah, it's because he rides a bike. Cyclists are a miserable and unhappy lot.
No, that's very untrue. Cyclists, especially mountain bikers, will get together to party, have an awesome time, and drink good beer at any convenient opportunity. They're tons of fun to be around.

True, but the street bikers who do nothing more than snarl traffic and flip you off when you finally get the chance to get around them are total dickwads. And I don't know about where you live, but in Omaha the dipshits come out of the woodwork during the Tour de France. Every year when the Tour is going on you'll see these asshats on every street wearing their little tight outfits that they pull out once a year.

Dicks.

I bike to work everyday I can, but I REFUSE to wear biker gear (other than a helmet). I bought it once, but there seemed to be zero benefit to wearing that stuff, but loads of discomfort. The only benefit I can see to bike shorts is the prevention of accidental junk exposure.

Also, bike shop employees are the douchiest douchebags of them all. 18-25 year olds who snort at your entry level derailleurs, and scoff at your bike model.

As an avid mountain biker, let me just assure everyone that we don't like the "road-kings" either. Smug bastards - with their fanny packs, tights, and sponsor adorned gear.

Around here its just the asshole college students who know the law is on their side so they ignore every law, run every red light and stopsign (half the time without even checking to see if anyone is coming) and even ride outside the bike lane. The problem is, every car that ends up hitting them around here (and it happens ALL the time) is a hell of a lot bigger than them. One of these days I know one of them is gonna jump out in front of me and I'm gonna thwack his ass and I will get in trouble despite me not breaking any laws.

Actually the cops here pop cyclist students daily for running red lights and stop signs. 20 years back I knew a guy that lost his driver's license for DUI on a bicycle.

Sometimes I hate my coworkers. I was out for two days and tehy left all my work for me to do when I got back. Nothing what so ever was done for those two whole days. now some of it I can understand cause they have not been trained to do it but some of the stuff (especially emergence requests) could have been done. I mentioned to one of my coworkers that they didn't even try to help take care of any of my work when I was out and they told me that "they are not responsible for my shit". Now as I said I did not expect much to get done but here I am 2 days behind on work plus several out of the usual tasks to be done and on top of that I am moving slow cause of the medicine I am on. I was going to try to talk to my boss but he won't be back in until next week so I will have to wait until than to deal with any of this crap.

Sometimes I hate this coworker I have. He left for two days and then came back expecting us to have completed all HIS work that he was supposed to do it. I mean, we're not trained on some of it at all, but even the emergency stuff we didn't really want to touch, but somehow that's our fault? And then he comes and blows his stack at us for not 'helping'. WTF? We're not responsible for his shit. I'm sure he's gonna complain to the boss too, whatever.

Also, he's walking like Robby the Robot. WTF?

very funny

But seriously I help back fill for them as much as possible when they are out but they don;t feel the need to do anything to help me out. And it's not like I was hoping for for them to do much. I was just hoping they would bring the packages that arrived into a locked area so they would be safe. Maybe send out a shipment of laptops to another site when it was requested for an overnight delivery and I was not in to fill it. That type of thing. And no I am not going to purposefully get anyone into trouble with the boss. I just want to clarify a few things with him becuase as far as I was understanding there is supposed to be someone to perform back fill for at least some of the stuff when I am not in. That way I don;t get slammed with a crap load of stuff when I get back from vacation/being sick.

I getcha, just teasing. We try to help out for people away here too. It's supposed to be a 'team', there is no 'i' in 'team', etc. Sounds like it's lose/lose for you though.
