[TV] S.H.I.E.L.D.

Huh, you know what struck me about yesterday's episode? Edward James Olmos' character was CO of a capital ship, just like in Battlestar Galactica.

This just keeps getting better, but I have to admit one gripe:

The douchey "real shield" guy who was clearly introduced as a hate sink only to be accidentally staked by Skye acting in self-defense felt cheap. I know they can't let her grievously wound Bobbi, but that felt like it was too set up.

That said...I was glad to see him staked.

I'm betting douche-kebab guy is going to turn out to be HYDRA. Bobbi told them Icers only, since they want Skye alive, and he immediately chambers a live round in his sidearm. The agent who attacked Skye initally was also using live ammo. It would make perfect sense for HYDRA to have agents in the various remnants of SHIELD and that they'd want to force a "we had to take her down" situation to deny her to SHIELD.

That is one damn good looking sandwich.
It was good to see Fitzsimmons working so closely on the same page again. Also yes, DEATHLOK is back!
Honestly the thing about Skye's mother took me by surprise. She had pretty much all her organs transplanted into Whitehall, and yet she still got stitched back together and survived. Guess she has a healing factor not unlike Wolverine.

Yeah, that was a pretty cool twist, even though i wasn't as surprised as i would be if i didn't suspect her powers where regeneration.

I was actually thinking that they wasted a great opportunity by just harvesting everything at once back when it happened.

Dr Jekyl didnt seem to be phased at seeing her at all. Did I miss something?
My guess is he sewed her back together knowing she had healing powers. Possibly even collecting organs from others to replace what she lost... She blamed him for losing their daughter, and they had a falling out. He then started experimenting on people, trying to give himself abilities to help get daisy back.

Did you not see when he found her body?

I mean it all made perfect sense when you think back to what we saw before.
I did but i just didnt piece together that he... pieced her together. I took his stated motivation at face value instead of reading into it.

That's weird, I have suddenlink also, and they cut to a news promo during the Bobbi/May conversation, missed about a minute there.

Holy shit I understand why she hates being called "the Cavalry" so much. That is way darker than I thought this show was willing to go.
And it fully explains a lot of May's personality, and why Coulson's so semi-protective of her.

This show just gets better and better.

That was the beauty of it, at first you're like: "wait, he knows she's alive?", and then: "oh, right, her power is that she can heal, and he knows that, makes perfect sense!"

It looks like Mockingbird and Lance Hunter are getting their own spin-off series. (via io9 )

Apparently, there is also another Marvel series in the works helmed by John Ridley, the writer-producer of 12 Years a Slave. (via io9) There are already a few wild rumors that suggest this series could be focused on Ms Marvel, Kamala Khan. (via Screencrush)

Cobie Smulders revealed on Jimmy Kimmel a while back that Maria Hill was going to be making an appearance in another episode of SHIELD soon.

I am mostly going off the fact they only used old footage for the "next week teaser" that usually hypes up the next episode. Only saying it's the last episode before Age of Ultron. Usually that means they are keeping something as a surprise. Also, Clark Gregg appeared on the special Avengers episode of Jimmy Kimmell acting like a superfan, asking if any of them would be willing to do television. They all looked around, with Chris Evans going "Oh yeah totally." or something like that before moving on.

Both those events together make me pretty sure the next episode is going to have at least one cameo from the team.

There was also back when Avengers had wrapped but the reshoots weren't happening yet and Jeremy Renner tweeted something about getting to wear the Hawkeye costume again for a day.

Yes I remember that. Many people thought that meant he was the person Coulson called to support him an episode or two ago, but that ended up being Deathlok.

So I guess I misheard it, because it looks like NEXT week is the final episode before AoU. I thought they were skipping next week.

Considering it seems to have SHIELD pursuing Hydra to Europe, it makes much more sense that it would have the cameos. Crossing my fingers for some good ones!

Last year all the tie ins to Capt America did not happen until after the premier.
I was actually watching Shield before i was going to Cap 2... and i had to stop half way because it spoiled parts of the film (Fury "dying" i tihnk)... then watched the rest after the film.
