Parkland Cop Scot Peterson Fired and Arrested on 11 Criminal Charges Related to Shooting

Scot Peterson, the Broward Sheriff's Office school resource officer who failed to protect Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students in the February 14, 2018 massacre, was fired today and arrested on 11 criminal charges related to his conduct the day of the shooting. Broward State Attorney Mike Satz and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced the state has charged Peterson with seven counts of child neglect, three counts of culpable negligence, and one count of perjury.​

As of right now there are 4 dead, including the shooter. He was killed by Gilroy Police within 1 minute of initially opening fire, but in that minute he shot at least 14 people (numbers could change). The suspect cut through a chain link fence and walked through woods with a rifle of some kind, which explains how he got a rifle into the festival grounds without being stopped at the security stations at the entrances.

One of the dead is reportedly a 6 year old kid, only a few years younger than my daughter. If this psycho had decided to go on his rampage in the middle of the day instead of the late afternoon, it could have been me or my family who was shot. It’s unnerving.

EDIT: Police are searching for a second suspect, but it could be a false lead. It’s only based on witnesses saying there was a second “suspicious” person who walked away back through the woods right after the shooting.

I'm (also) getting tired of the folks whose motive just ultimately turns out to be, "I guess I was just really, really angry, and this inspired me to (try and) kill a bunch of people."

People say that learning to deal with strong emotions is an essential survival skill, but I don't hear people talk often enough about how much this can enhance the survival of those nearby people interacting with the person having those emotions.

A motive is emerging. The piece of shit had social media postings about how the festival was overpriced, caters to the rich from Silicon Valley, the space should be used for farming, etc.

Also (big shock!) he’s a racist and misogynistic asshole who talked about Social Darwinism, how races shouldn’t mix, women need to know their place, etc.

First of all, that's an awful lot of suppressors. You can't just pick those up at the 7-11, they're harder to come by.
Second, I assume this is supposed to be some kind of proclamation of which "side" he's on, but it's just so... flagrant, it's like it couldn't possibly be legit. We're talking B-movie "NYAAAH-HAAA-HaaaAAA!" level stuff.

EDIT: My wife apparently came across the picture on her own feed while I was typing the above, and added, "You know this guy thinks he's in some kinda 'Dumbledore's Army' shit, right?"
