After Discovery I was worried about Picard. Just watched the first episode and it was awesome. It's like Star Treks "Logan". Can't wait for the next episode next week. Best thing the first episode didn't felt confusing so even people who didn't watched Star Trek can follow. But I bet the purist neckbeards will complain that the future of the 24th century looks like the worlds in 20 years and the aliens are too human

Honestly @Frank ... as someone who's a HUGE fan of Star Trek Online? The destruction of Romulus is one of the better things that has happened to Star Trek, if only because it gave birth to the much more interesting Romulan Republic. I mean, the Star Empire's still around and much of the early game story with the Roms involves fighting them, but turning the Romulan Republic into a major faction that cooperated with the Federation and the Klingon Empire gave the writers much more to work with.
The STO writers also made a saving throw in regards to the whole mess about why the destruction of Romulus actually happened, turning it from "No reason given" into a story that spanned several expansions worth of content and had a pretty decent ending, all things considered. I can't wait to see how it gets ruined by Kurtzman.

So I'm finally catching up on the Marvel Netflix shows. I plowed through Jessica Jones S2, which I wasn't into at first but got into more as it went along. Not as nerve wracking great as the first season, but still good.
Luke Cage S2 was next and THAT I really enjoyed, more than the first season. It was more consistent and didn't try switching villains halfway through like S1. I didn't like the villain at first because of the strong Jamaican accent, but DAMN if the writing didn't pull me in.
Now I'm into Iron Fist S2 and it's...okay. I know the first season is generally crapped on, but I thought it was okay. This one is getting stronger as it goes. I'm digging the HELL out of Alice Eve in this. Fantastic acting on her part.
Although, once Misty Knight shows up, it kind of turns into The Colleen & Misty Show and I am ALL FOR IT. Seriously, they're great characters, the actresses are phenomenal, and their chemistry is off the charts. I'd love a Daughters of the Dragon series.
Daredevil S3, Punisher S2, and Jessica Jones S3 (in that order) will be next and will finish these shows. It's disappointing how it seems the love and talk for these died off because despite some flaws and perhaps dragging at points, these are good shows.
It's a shame they not acknowledged in the MCU films. Even briefly cutting to some of these characters watching each other turn to dust during Endgame. I hope we see some of these actors return in some form or another. Though I doubt we'll see them in an R-Rated form again.

Are you watching these in chronological order? As in, have you watched Defenders yet?
I have. I'd been watching them as they came out, but fell off at Punisher. I watched that I think last year (and really liked it), then tried moving onto Jessica Jones S2, but I couldn't get into it. But yeah, I'm watching them in order of the original release dates
I tried to get back into Star Trek online after years of not playing and found myself overwhelmed by all of the new game mechanics and content.
Is it best just to start a new character when getting back into it?
There really isn't a reason not. It's not like it's hard to level anymore; Disco and Delta patrols give a full level each the first time you do them a day and practically every episode does as well. Some things to keep in mind...
- All T6 ships now level with you from level 1. You got a ship you like or just want to start farmings ship traits early? Use it!
- Events now have their own tab. It's not through Holiday rep anymore. This is also how you access the event rewards.
- Fed and KDF can use Rom ships now.
- New intros and panels for everyone, including the option to play as a TOS or Disco-era Fed, as well as starting at 50 as a Jem'Hadar if you've got a high level character.
- 10th Anniversary event is just starting. Do one of the Event things (New episodes, certain TFOs) once a day for 25 days to unlock the Alliance Battlecruiser, which is kinda broken good.
