Had a wake-up-in-cold-sweat nightmare last night where the divorce hadn't happened, and I was explaining to my SO that I'd be blowing my savings into stupid shit, starting with a pair of noise-cancelling headphones and an HTC Vive, since I didn't care about our long-term. The conversation itself wasn't distressing, but my thought patterns in the dream and immediately after waking were those of back then, which was.
Managed to fall asleep after an hour (thanks for the records, fitbit), and dreamt that my ex, her partner, and her extended family (including like a dozen imaginary people) all moved into a house next door. Then my house turned into a labyrinthine mansion (that still had very similar rooms to the real one), which they all kept trespassing onto, which was distressing. Her dad cleaned my garage, which was nice. I forget snippets of the dream, but near the end I was staring at an east-Asian-looking woman watching Evangelion in a glass-walled projection room in the backyard.
I'd like to go back to not remembering my dreams as usual.
