Not to toot my own horn too much, but I'm actually getting the hang of using my tablet effectively!

I've got a few days of backlog lined up for my February Madness art thread, and I can't wait to see what people think!

Spent all day waiting around in a councilor's office, but it was worth it. Got all the issues with my graduation requirements cleared up. As it turns out, the old requirements, which my college rewrote to be stricter the last year or so, supersede the new ones for me because I've been continuously enrolled since the old ones were still in effect. (I took one semester off and thought that screwed me up, but it turns out since I was there ONE semester for the year it still counts). Translation: I've already completed all requirements for my degree. I'll have my AS by June of this year, guaranteed. I could drop out entirely this semester and get a job if I wanted to, but I'm staying in to finish classes necessary to transfer to a state university.

Last night when cleaning up dinner I dropped my plate. I started laughing and Kerri thought I was nuts.The reason I laughed? I dropped my plate and it hit the cat. We had chicken alfredo and I had picked out all the peas.

You guessed it. Last night when cleaning up my dinner I pea-d on the cat.

I have assaulted the brutal academic job market and secured two in-person interviews (and had one other phone interview that led to nothing). This is pretty huge. If I can convince even one of them that I'll be an asset to their department, then I've landed a tenure-track gig.

There's more, but one giant announcement at a time.

My husband entered my chili recipe in a competition on the ship. We won 2nd place and a $10 gift card! It's not quite epic, but it is a win nonetheless. :D

Last Friday I arrived in Prague for my semester study abroad. Since then I have:

  • Gone out with different people every night and had a great time each time.
  • Met people from, literally, every inhabited continent in the world. And they have all been very nice. Especially the Dutch.
  • Had some of the best beer I've ever had anywhere.
  • Improved US-Norwegian relations...with my tongue.
  • Went to lunch at a brewery today which turned into a pub crawl when the Czech student guiding us kept saying "Hey, I know another good pub that's not far..."
  • Made tentative plans to spend St. Patrick's Day in Dublin with another student, just because we can.

    The trip has been amazing so far and in the next couple of weeks I hope to get some good sightseeing in (other than the inside of bars) now that I've got Internet and a mobile phone. Yep.
