I didn't want to make a new thread just for this. So I've been in school full time for over 4 months now and I'm sitting here realizing even though I spend a lot of time studying and I literally go to school for 8ish hours a day I have soooo much more free time than I did when I was working 4 days a week 12 hours a day. I think a lot of this comes by the set schedule, only going to school straight days (well sitting in front of my computer and doing online learning now) instead of a rotating shift between days weekends and nights. I don't know what I was thinking when I hated school when I was younger. So much free time to do what you want, so little responsibilities. Don't get me wrong, I still have a lot of responsibilities, but I cashed out my savings and I'm living off that, I've already paid off my mortgage for the entire year so I don't have to worry about that, I was able to get on food stamps so I don't have to worry about food in the house. I still have to pay for gas, electricity, etc, but I know about what my bills are and that I can afford them for the year. So besides school, studying, and kids, I'm basically free. When I was working I had to worry about how much my paycheck was, on if I could afford to call in sick (when we didn't have any sick time) if I could afford to take vacation time (because it lowered my check by 8 hours of overtime a week). Life just seems to be so much easier as a student than as a "working adult" It's crazy. I'm 37 so I've been in the workforce for a good long time I just never realized how easy I had it as a kid in school and how I took it for granted at the time (though I'm sure we all took it for granted). That's it, that's my post. Thank you for coming to my TED talk
